Christmas is always a 50/50 time of the year for me, so me and my amigos desided to do a Xmas video to boost our morals over this grim season. I hope it could bring smiles to other people as it does to us!

Now we’re getting more Steel Panther than Paradise Lost.
Speaking of getting naked for metal, I was listening to the ‘Paradise Lost’ album in the shower today and it was awesome.
Nick Holmes’ voice seems right when you’re in the nude.

I´m not a native english speaker, so it adds a bit of a challenge in getting the point across i suppose. At least Requiem understood me the first time.

I got that feeling too. It was like sort of 21st century 'Draconian Times', at least compared with the hard-to-like previous four albums. I still remember the thrill I got when I heard the piano intro for 'Don't Belong' the first time I put it on the stereo in 2005. Paradise Lost were back!

Express an opinion around here at your peril, Chainsaw
I'm pleased you called out 'Paradise Lost' for the great album it is. I think it tends to get overlooked a fair bit. I think it just nails that slick gothic metal sound. I'm a firm believer that this album is one of their greats, as I outlined in my list.

Getting a really nice tone from my amp right now, half an hour of messing with the volume and tone knobs of my guitar, pre- and post- gain on the amp and reverb. Worth every second.

ChainsawAkimbo gave a Damn to SquaredHuman in SQUARED HUMAN - Metal Punk or what?!
SQUARED HUMAN consists of me, myself and I. A real solo project. While "me" is once again too late, "myself" still fights with the hangover from last night and "I" still sits on the bowl, it could actually already start off. Once again it's Saturday night, the child sleeps, the woman left the house and the cellar belongs to the three schizos. A badass mask ball, squared, loud, the neighbors cuss. What a wicked stuff and awesome cinema that SQUARED HUMAN there offer. Rocking handmade Metal with cutting vocals and abyssed lyrics, in German that the mother-in-law understands them too.

"Memory of a hoof" (meaning the hoof being a thing that is remembered, not the hoof having a memory.. allthough theres a line saying that too in the lyrics...) Theres something in the lyrics about a severed limb, and a lot about a dead man.. it´s.. tough to get handle on even when it´s in my native languange..

ChainsawAkimbo given a Damn from Natassja in What Are You Listening To?
Here goes! Trust me makes just about as much sense in finnish.
    Recollection of a hoof
Severed limb feels from far way
a hoove where a recollection rests it there
Your severed arm won´t cut wheat anymore
Cuts the man silently inside the mind
    Old wounds open
But there isn´t a drop of blood
Severed limb feels from far away
    Death waiting behind the corner
The mowers hand no longer cur the grain
Laughing at their work (this uses a word thats like crows laughing)
    Old corpses lapse
    But death isn´t coming
    The words that were repeated
Took a tested humanity behind these faces
To the soil behind the churches collapsed fence
And it won´t return from there to the front of these eyes
    Foreign words, familiar oaths
    Satans hoof feet
Puts the seal in the path i walk
Dead to the world i try to (it´s either remember or understand) our name
Severed limb feels from far away (recollection of a hoof)
When the mowed man recollects the (now, this word i do not know.. might be a typo in the lyrics online and could be "Lauma" which is Horde)
(Stalks in the corner of the eye)
    I almost remember dying
    (escapes from the attentive stare)
It´s crazy to think you were alive then
(Like your names echo in the wind)
Old memories (this could be either "come back" or something else)
All other pain is left behind
(A rotting man don´t need flowers from relatives, but wheat is fine for a family grave)
    The words that were repeated
Took a tested humanity behind these faces
To the soil behind the churches collapsed fence
And it won´t return from there to the front of these eyes
The names that were written with butterflys blood
And married off to blue flame to be safe from clay-people (Wtf.. it´s like.. what? )
From the dishes of spirit travelling to (Hell, basically)
    Foreign words, familiar oaths
Puts the seal in the path i walk
Our living name is praised by fallus (another wtf moment, well.. most of this was )

If you are ever able to add a drummer, that would raise this to a whole new level. These songs scream for acoustic drums and a drummer! Programming overly complicated drums is a sin i often see (well, hear) and no matter what you do.. programmed drums just lack the soul (It´s a thing i struggle with constantly, annoying as hell and one of the biggest things in the way of my creativity currently).
There are some nice hooks and riffs in the album, definitely one of the better new things i´ve come across for a while. I would have enjoyed a bit of a breather at some point, but it´s propably a lot to do with the virtual drummer being pumped up on amphetamine. I know there are couple at the end, and propably would break the momentum of the album to put them somewhere else. But then again, i´m not trve kvlt so what do i even know?
If this is the your debut, it´s a damn strong on at that. I´ll be looking forward what you come up with in the future, and i will be revisiting this one a few times for sure.

Finnish copyright organisation Teosto is negotiating with youtube and therefore a huge chunk of music is blocked in my country. Talk about an annoyance! Teosto is an organisation supposedly there to support the artists, but in Finland we have payed forever ie. when buying empty cd´s or tapes etc. because "It´s possible to burn/copy music to them". It´s like being fined because you might commit a crime! Supposedly we get them unblocked on friday, but it is rather worrying turn of events anyhow.
Did you mean this one? it´s great.

ChainsawAkimbo gave a Damn to planetarian in Evertune bridges
I bought the LTD MH-1007ET (which has an Evertune bridge) a couple months ago and I'm pretty fond of it. The bridge keeping strings in tune isn't really anything to write home about, as that's more an issue of convenience than anything, but it also has a few positive effects on the general playability of the instrument which may be of value.
First off, when you pluck a string it helps tame the initial pitch jump (where the string briefly goes sharp before settling back down), since the saddle compensates for the string stretching (if you have it tuned at the very edge of the upper range of the 'active' zone, and unplug your guitar, you can actually hear the saddle 'buzzing' against the bend stop while it does this). This is most noticeable for those who tend to hit their strings pretty hard, and/or use very low tunings.
It also helps keep the higher frets more in tune, preventing the sharpness and dissonance that comes from applying too much pressure or accidentally bending strings a bit.
The fact that each string is handled independently from all the others is a nice bonus. If a string breaks, it doesn't affect the pitch of any of the others. You can also customize the zone setting for each string, so you can use the midrange of the active zone for low strings (giving them optimal pitch stability and completely eliminating bending, accidental or not), while setting the higher strings closer to the top edge of the active zone for bending.
Supposedly the evertune's tension compensation has a slight reduction effect on the guitar's sustain, and if that ends up being a real issue it's always possible to tune individual saddles lower and bringing the strings above the zone to disable the evertune entirely for specific (e.g. high E) strings, while leaving it engaged for the others. I can't personally say I've noticed any lack of sustain on my MH-1007, but my playing style isn't one where I'd have much opportunity to, so take that with a grain of salt.
Of course, some of the effects it addresses could also be handled by changing technique or instrument setup (e.g. putting more effort into precise fretting, strumming/picking lighter), but overall I'd say it offers a net positive effect. There are still reasons people might not want it, for example folks concerned about the routing that has to be done to install one, or folks who are super concerned about whatever effect it might be having on sustain or tone, or simply can't weigh the (subjectively) minor benefits against whatever added cost it might have on the guitar.
I'd say for anyone interested but skeptical, try to find one to try out and see what you think, though they're rare enough that i also realize that would be rather...difficult for most.
