  1. Same Fetus, Killing On Adrenaline was the only album I got into. The one GWAR album I dig is Scumdogs Of The Universe: Does it live up?
  2. The only discomfort I run into is from heat and sweat on hot days... might be an issue in your neck of the woods but not so much if traveling? They're up to the XM5 now. I haven't tried those.
  3. I don't know if they'd be up to your standards but those Sony XM3s I got a couple years ago are still going strong. Good unfatiguing sound, good noise cancellation, good battery life. Took me a while to get used to the bassier EQ profile vs the MDR-7506 but the detail is still there.
  4. He just sends them his cast-off shirts every couple years. Or maybe it's skin husks. Hard to tell. Lunar Chamber is pretty cool:
  5. There's no wrong way to listen to music as long as it's making you happy. I find that when I'm just listening to stuff to keep up with it - to hear what everyone else is hearing, have an opinion, be part of the conversation, etc - it doesn't make me happy, because I'm listening with some outside goal in mind rather than just being in the moment with the music, and I get burned out really quickly. I could never write for a music blog because if I had to listen to a bunch of new stuff in that mindset I'd just start to hate everything within a week or two. So the best way for me to enjoy new music is to only try new stuff when I'm in the right mood, and if it happens to grab me, I stick with it and wind up listening daily for a while, and keep that kind of intake to one or two albums at a time. I'm also an "albums" guy... I want to like a full album, so if there are only one or two good tracks and then a bunch of filler I don't stick with it. But that's just me. If it's important to you to listen to everything and have informed opinions about it, that's great. Maybe take some notes so you don't forget your favorites.
  6. Now I'm looking forward to it more.
  7. I snagged it but am waiting for an appropriately archaic moment to put it on... how is it?
  8. Cool. I'm a spring chicken by current forum standards at 43, and I also got into death metal when I was 13. I've been kind of all over the map lately. The older DM I've put on in the past couple weeks has been Cannibal Corpse, Death, Necrophobic, Timeghoul, Wicked Innocence, Pan.Thy.Monium... right now I'm listening to some old Evoken. Newer bands I've been putting on recently are Grave Miasma, Disma, Afterbirth... one of my friends put me onto that recent Lunar Chamber album with horrible art... the first Dream Unending is pretty cool for atmospheric outside-the-box doom death. But I'm just starting to come out of a slump where I hated everything and wasn't listening to any metal for a few months, so nothing is normal right now.
  9. Hey, welcome. I'm a big fan of older death metal too. What bands are you into?
  10. Oh come on, next you'll be telling me that these MEN did not just return victorious from glory in battle.
  11. Sznur - Dom Czlowieka Triptykon - Melana Chasmata
  12. We've got a (very short) proto-metal thread here, feel free to add to it:
  13. Septic Flesh - Mystic Places Of Dawn Septicflesh - Titan
  14. Necrophobic - The Nocturnal Silence
  15. Slidhr - "White Hart" (promo track) Cannibal Corpse - Tomb Of The Mutilated Nice, Timeghoul rules.
