The client I am working with at present is in Carlisle and one of the team sent me a picture earlier of the town underwater basically.  There's no trains running because the lines have been flooded so as well as having tomorrow off I might be working from home a lot this week.
On a different note I may have secured the funding for a deposit to buy a house although I need to read into a few things more thoroughly but the situation is looking more positive than it was a few weeks ago.

It makes sense. To be honest, STP in general makes me want to listen to Alice In Chains... was sorry to hear about Weiland, in any case, he'd cleaned up and was doing what he loved according to what I read.

Sorry to hear it's not ticking the boxes for you, but there's no accounting for taste. That's a desert island album for me. My experience with "Blessed" has been a bit more fruitful. I dig the riffs, love the drums (duh), but after a few concentrated spins, I've found myself opening up to the vocals and the songwriting too, which were always things I didn't like about MA.

I have listened plenty to Amorphis "Karelian Isthmus" this week and although I am definitely more familiar with it I am no more enamoured with it overall. There's good bits but overall it's just "meh". It has promise but never delivers on it. I can remember the riffs but still feel underwhelmed by them. It has been a good exercise in getting to know an album better though and i will repeat the process of listening once a day for a week on other albums.

EDIT: welp, quick gander on my folders reveals I actually bought the damn thing too.  Dont drink and bandcamp guys.  Actually, fuck that, do that shit, cuz you find stuff like this in times of silence. 

I do tend to run on about beer.
Currently having a glass of Old Overholt rye whiskey though. Cheap, but I've been craving it. It's a celebration night - my wife just passed a test to complete the application process for her medical license in another state. May be looking at a big change coming up in the somewhat near future.
