  1. Winterfylleth - Whisper of the Elements
  2. Well, apperantly he changed his mind. And honestly, Eclosion and Je Suis d'Ailleurs are not "less" metal then Oiseaux de Proie. Overall, I think Kodama is a great mix between Souvenirs d'un Autre Monde and Écailles de Lune with some very small influences from Shelter and Les Voyages de l'Ame. It is like a combination of what Alcest did before, with focus on the first two albums and some additional influences drawn from Japan. And in special the movie Princess Mononoke. However, Kodama needs to grow on you. The first couple of times I listened to it, it just felt "alright" to me. But after around circa ten spins, the true beauty of the album unfolded to me. Except closing track Onyx, which is just a waste of time. The instrumental bonus track Notre Sang et Nos Pensées would have fit much better. Oh well, in the end it is still a great record which can compete easily with their other albums. Np: Alcest - Kodama Surprise, surprise.
  3. Ghost Brigade - Wretched Blues
  4. Personally, a song has to touch me. It must let me feel something. And that may vary from a lot of different factors. From simply very energetic metal, to bands that give you a melancholic feeling. Or from anger to depression. And I don't care how a band achieves such. Is it with monotone, hypnotic riffs combined with shrieked vocals, fine. Is it done with very complex stuff and a complex structure, fine as well. A top ten songs would be impossible for me. Also, you might want to call your list "The big Black Dream Maiden list".
  5. Urfaust - Empty Space Meditation Wow. Amazing to hear how they have improved themselves, compared to their previous full lenghts.
  6. It would suit her, but actually no. Just the beer I am drinking right now. Having my priorities
  7. Alcest - Kodama (box set) Madrugada - Industrial Silence Wederganger - Halfvergaan Ontwaakt Insomnium - Winter's Gate All on vinyl, except Insomnium.
  8. Life is being nice to me at the moment, I think. I've met this very awesome girl from Hungary a couple of months ago and things are getting serious now. Also, my "Complete Kodama box" by Alcest got delivered today as well and I am very happy with it. Not only the album is great, the additional book and artwork are amazing as well. On another note, a friend of my made a remark earlier today that I seemed much more happy lately than I used to be during the past year. Probably ot in the last that I also really enjoy studying right now. Yes, everything might have taken his right place now and I am really happy with that. Also: Duvel is love, Duvel is life.
  9. Alcest - Kodama They fuckin' did it.
  10. I mananged to log in succesfully during thsi state. Is that worth an achievement?
  11. Terzij de Horde - Wacht/Lex Barbarorum
  12. It was a good show, they have some very decent material. I got the impression though that the crowd seemed to be a bit bored at the end though. Np: Iron Maiden - Strange World Probably the most depressing song Iron Maiden ever wrote.
  13. Mutilation Rites - Tactical Means of Ourobors Apperantly this band will support Wiegedood tonight. I could think of worse support acts, way worse...
  14. Nokturnal Mortum - My Dream Islands
  15. Shining - For the Gods Below Since their show at Fall of Summer, I've been in an almost non stop Shining mood. Especially this song and Claws of Perdition pass at least two times on daily base.
  16. Neither. And if that isn't an option, still neither. Solstafir or Alcest?
  17. Agreed. But also Méditation Grisâtre and Remords Posthume are exceptional.
  18. Absolutely fantastic album, indeed. NP: Dark Tranquillity - ThereIn
