  1. Re: LOKI'S CHILD -- a satire of music, culture, and politics two of you on here? well it seems we don't fit with the mainstreamers sterotypical view of metalheads as being "unsophisticated, uneducated lowlifes" take that society lol
  2. Re: Rate and Slate rating - that Australia pulled off the win last night and finally put together performances with bat and ball to beat the windies by 30 runs slating - people who like metal but don't have the guts to admit it to their hip hop/rap/pop loving friends
  3. Re: Rate the song above you! ok but not great, 6/10 and now for something completely different EFIuoRyC7Cc
  4. Re: See The Sky so let me get this straight, you created four threads promoting the same band, saying the exact same thing in each thread, yeah think one would have been sufficient
  5. Re: Megadeath help! next two are from the album Peace Sells...But Who's Buying rNqrKAyuA6M ZHcPNr7Ifq0
  6. Re: Megadeath help! anyway gonna take a cue from BAN here and post vids of tracks from the albums I think you may be interested in first two are from Megadeth's debut Killing Is My Business...And Business Is Good ziS5jQa2aa4 mvlkw32qW8M

  8. Re: 5 word thread! wishes for more metal shows fullstop
  9. Re: dreamzone: the ultimate concert I was just about to suggest Strategos do that, guess certifiable minds do think alike lol
  10. Re: Ban the user above you! banned because Anathema kick ass
  11. Re: Rate and Slate rating - sleep slating - slipknot
  12. Re: Female Players oh how I hope never to encounter that band Mortillery is a newly formed female fronted thrash band, they have a couple of ok songs but nothing spectacular, and correct me if I'm wrong but aren't there a couple of female fronted death metal bands?
  13. Re: LOKI'S CHILD -- a satire of music, culture, and politics wow an author, that's different, I'll have a look at those samples when I get the time, hopefully you'll stick around for a while, we desperately need new people with fresh opinions on here
  14. Re: Ghosts I'm extremely jaded on the subject of religion (hey 12 years in the catholic school system will have that effect on people) I find it extremely difficult to believe that if there is a god it would actually care about the "petty issues of us mortals" if there is a god it must be an omnipotent being capable of changing things as it sees fit, the bible portrays this deity as being a loving, compassionate being, so why would such a powerful, loving, god allow such horrific things to occur to its creations, why doesn't it intervene to eradicate war, hatred, poverty famine and disease? the only answer these religious types can ever offer to this question is "god works in mysterious ways" that's bullshit, what they're actually saying is "because god doesn't care" I'm not saying there is no god, no one can say that we simply do not know, what I'm saying is that if there is a god it has better things to do then concern itself with the squabbles, dilemmas and issues of mortals by the way that is by no means intended to be offensive however if it is I apologise
  15. Re: oh haiIiiiiiiii! guess it's time for the customary welcome to the forum, hope you enjoy you're time here, please check out the "rate the song above you" thread in forum games if you get the chance and as always keep it metal \m/
  16. Re: Metal Core for what? I admit every Pantera influenced band bar one totally sucks (the exception being a new band called Outliar but they aren't metalcore fortunately) Pantera are not metalcore, they are groove metal influenced by Exhorder, Sepultura started to sound metalcore on Roots which was the first of what would and still are dreadful releases by the band, sevenfold is an abomination going from emopopcore to the new age guns n roses, until someone can show me a metalcore band I find tolerable I will continue to view this as a worthless genre, that article does however imply that metalcore is NOT a style of metal but rather a fusion intended to be a stand alone musical form like punk and metal
  17. Re: some good gothic metal bands? typical Lemmy that, straight to the point with no bullshit
  18. Re: dreamzone: the ultimate concert Sepultura were a thrash band from Brazil, now they're an embarassment from Brazil, you need to be very careful with them because everything before Roots ranges from good to great, but from Roots onwards they suck, you may also like "Punishment For Decadence" by Coroner, i''ll have a look through my (admittedly quite small) death metal collection to see if there's any high tempo stuff in there you might like
  19. Re: What Are You Listening To? Annihilator - Alison In Hell
  20. Re: New Purchases/Acquisitions Arcturus- Aspera Hiems Symfornia Anathema - The Silent Enigma Svartsot - Ravnenous Saga
  21. Re: dreamzone: the ultimate concert so you want fast, riff-laden metal with no affiliation whatsoever with the devil huh? thrash metal is a good place to start, check out Megadeth pre Countdown To Extinction plus United Abominations and Endgame for starters, Sepultura's Schizophrenia is another good one to check out
  22. Re: Rate and Slate rating - coffee slating - sobriety
  23. Re: Ghosts who can say for certain, I like to think of myself as being a sane, rational person, I've tried looking at the experiences I've had in a logical, rational manner looking for perfectly normal explanations, for the most part I've been successful in this endeavour, it's really only three experiences I've had that elude rational explanation, the two I've already mentioned and another more personal one I'm not willing to discuss, when there's so much we don't understand about our world and the universe at large I don't think it's rational to rule out any possibilities, I mean I'm an atheist but I'm open to the possibility that a God or Gods could exist we simply do not know for certain one way or the other at this present time, and that's really what life is about isn't it? discovering what lies beyond those great unknowns?
  24. Re: dreamzone: the ultimate concert have seen the video, can only imagine what it would have been like to be there in person we'd better not let NTNR catch us discussing Queen though lol
  25. Re: NWOBHM for the beginner welcome back, wait someone called bon jovi heavy metal? well he is heavy something I suppose, he's heavy suck
