  2. That's awesome dude, I'm sure it will turn out well. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  3. I can't handle that. It's nearly impossible for me to sleep when I'm hot, it's miserable. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  4. BAN approved. [emoji106] Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  5. Withered Earth - Forgotten Sunrise This is a deceptively impenetrable listen. It doesn't do anything in its individual sections that's all that strange, but it puts its parts together in strange ways, and can't seem to make up its mind on which way it wants to go. Sometimes it works better than others, and it's enjoyable overall, but hopefully another listen will make me a bit less confused by it. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  6. I'll wait at my mailbox with baited breath. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  7. Hope you've got some Morbid in the mix. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  8. That will be a part of our inevitable 2nd or 3rd album transitioning phase, after which we intend to rest on our laurels and release self-indulgent bullshit for the next 20 years. [emoji16] Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  9. It's a lot more death metal than before, and somewhat weirder too. I'll take you up on that if I can think of anything. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  10. I know that feeling all to well, and am happy that at least this portion of life is going well. I think this will resonate with you, more so than the Nevertanezra album, at least. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  11. No drums at practice today, but it was still productive. Our bass player is getting into the rhythm of what we're doing, and we got some vocal issues worked out with the first song, so I think the track one is pretty well done. I tried out my lyrics for the second song today, and I liked the way they fit, I just need to finish them. It's encouraging to be moving forward, to say the least. 15. I think you know how I feel about Legion. I've heard him be a good vocalist, but that's not how I feel about his performances with Marduk. He probably delivered for them exactly what they wanted, as his tedious screeching matched the tedious blasting of the albums from his era. I can listen to Panzer Division once in a while, but the only other album I have from that time is Heaven Shall Burn, and I barely made it through that the last time I put it on. As far as Mortuus goes, he's easily their best vocalist. Musically, I still prefer the Af Grav albums, but Mortuus did a great deal to help revitalize their sound after the Legion era, and the vocals are now a focal point for the band where they really weren't before. I still haven't heard Frontschwein, so calling him the "greatest vocalist in modern black metal" is quite the stretch for me from my experience, but he is damn good, especially live. I'm interested to hear these different techniques you're talking about. If they're what I'm thinking, he's not the only one doing this sort of thing, but it is damn cool. 16. Solid point. Put together a facebook page, build anticipation with juicy descriptions, and then release absolutely nothing! Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  17. I don't know dude, that doesn't sound like as much fun as going to work. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  18. I got into it when I was working at a record store that specialized in power, gothic, progressive, and melodic/symphonic black and death metal. The kind of place that sells incense, dragon sculptures, and sex toys along with their metal is a strange place indeed, but I did get into a lot of metal that I wasn't exposed to prior to then. Blind Guardian was my way in because of the riffs. I wasn't looking for anything fun, but I loved how they mixed those killer melodies and vocals with awesome speed metal guitars. 19. Maybe for soloing ability, but none of those guys could write riffs as good as Holy Terror's. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  20. You ever going to reveal anything about what you write? Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  21. Damn, that would make me sick to my stomach. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  22. I would only choose Painkiller as your first destination if it's the one you're familiar with. Sad Wings of Destiny, Sin After Sin, and Stained Class are the quintessential Priest albums, and Defenders of the Faith is pretty damn good too. The live album Unleashed in the East is a killer live set showcasing mostly songs from their best albums with an incredible energy, that might be a good place to start for getting a better feel of their old stuff. 23. Ever heard their last album Screams and Whispers? Seems like something that would go well with what you've been spinning lately. Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
  24. Agreed on all counts. Power metal is pretty fun and upbeat overall, even the darker bands tend to fit that style. Blind Guardian has long been one of the best the genre had to offer, and their live performance that I caught last year did plenty to reinforce that belief for me. 25. This could be a cool band photo. When are you two going to start making some music together? Sent from my HTCD160LVW using Tapatalk
