  1. Take care. Thatguy hates golf. Tried it with some mates when I was at school - totally uncoached - and of course we sucked and the pro told us not to come back at the end of the term. My brothers-in-law and plenty of mates love it...to each his own.
  2. CHELSEA WOLFE - Hiss Spin. Reminded me of early Cocteau Twins today but her voice is not as ethereal as Eliz. Fraser's. MESHUGGAH - Immutable. Will be in my top 13.
  3. There is not much that is as adventurous as Jute Gyte! I enjoyed this and I put it in my Wishlist.
  4. Thatguy's ears prick up ULTHA - Forget Everything and Remember (The Lost and Obscure). A long title that defies my rule of thumb. The title actually tells us what to expect. This is a good collection.
  5. This is the truth. Thatguy was indulging in a bit of sly smart-arse sarcasm of his own at the expense of his brothers who were - as we say in Oz - having lend of you.
  6. Dear Obitual - the above posts are examples of smart-arsed sarcasm. Ignore them and head to 'What are you listening to now.' Thatguy never indulges in smart-arsed sarcasm.😜
  7. HÄXENZIJRKELL - Urgrund. Bland. FATALIST - Untitled. Also bland BORIS - fade. Like SUNN O))) but different. Not one for the GG to try.
  8. CHAKA KHAN- Epiphany- The Best of Chaka Khan Vol.1. A compilation? 80's funk? What has come over Thatguy?...I had a dream and woke up with 'Ain't Nobody' running around in the tired old brain. What a voice. What a song. Normal service will return shortly.
  9. GOJIRA - The Way of All Flesh. This is still a great album. The drum sound alone is worthy - listen to 'The Silver Cord'.
  10. One hundred times yes. When I was a medical student I spent some time at what we called 'the bin' at Rozelle. Beautiful old buildings on beautiful green grounds on the water. It was doomed. Currently used for various community activities - the long term care of the mentally ill and others long gone. Community care works for a few, but was essentially always an underfunded lie. And if there were a hell, yep, Ronnie would be rotting in it.
  11. Thoughts and best wishes - not prayers, I don't do that - is all I can offer you. Not much use, but you can vent here as much as you like, and that is of some value I guess.
  12. DIOCLETIAN - Gesundrian. Say no more.
  13. I'm not going here. I can't get Electric Callboy out of my eyes and ears - at least they left me my soul.
  14. Ya can't make me. Thatguy hates the Smiffs too. Yep.
  15. Most things boil down to genetics. And I've told you savages before, it's the perineum.
  16. I feel the same way about anyone who hates olives.
  17. I think yer problem is not so much with Australia as with the modern world, but all the best anyway.
  18. The last bloke I talked to who had been in the Parrot pit lost a tooth. Interesting rant spoiled by praise of the Ramones. Thatguy hates the Ramones.
  19. VEILBURNER - VBRNR. Pretty good. Not as dissonant as advertised. VACUOUS - Dreams of Dysphoria. Pleasant. IMHA TARIKAT - Hearts Unchained - At War With A Passionless World. A bit bland. I'm beginning to think that the length of an album's title is inversely proportional to its quality. I've never listened to Bauhaus either.
  20. You've got to use daylight in moderation. I run 3 days a week and am often out walking or gardening and was vit D deficient despite this. There is genetic variation in the ability of skin to synthesise vit D whatever the skin colour. I am pretty damn pale - as you'd expect of any Anglo dermatologist or ex-dermatologist. Also, the ability to synth vit D will diminish with age especially in women. You don't need to buy into the mystic benefits of vit D. I don't. But you need normal vit D levels for bone health - again, especially as you get older. Having broken maybe more than my fair share of bones over the years - fingers, toes, ribs, comminuted fracture dislocation R ankle - I would like to keep my bones in as good shape as possible. All that said, I was out running this morning on Mt Taylor, and the light, the blue sky, the 18C, the breeze...fantastic.
  21. Now we see them. Same bass player - and the same bass - in Triumph of Death as in my picture.
  22. Here's a picture I took at the Hobart gig.
  23. Wear an obnoxious metal shirt so if the camera catches you we'll know its you.
  24. Archspire is a special case to me and an exception to my usual thing. SoH is certainly a bit soft too, and the - programmed I presume - drums annoy me.
