They seem to have been really good about releasing demos, live recordings, and other oddities that they have recorded (they have an entire bandcamp page just for live bootlegs), so I wouldn't be surprised if additional recordings from Life Metal were to come out at some point.
Frankly, I am surprised that they have not written a book about their music yet.  As you said, everything that they do has a purpose, and it would be really cool if they would write something that provides some first-hand details about that.

I live in Southern California, am 41, and a college professor. I listen to all music, not just metal, but as far as metal goes, I mostly listen to black metal and death metal. 
 
aside from music, I’m mostly into motorcycles, vintage scooters, graffiti, skateboarding, and vegan food. (Even though I’m old). and general academia stuff.

Discovered them several months ago at a show in Brooklyn (isn't it awesome finding bands that way?) and they killed. They've easily become one of my favorite bands. First album I listened to was 'Hunted', which I've enjoyed the most, though their other stuff is great, too. 
Curious to know if anyone else digs them? 
I find that they have a lot of interesting little layers of inter-connected styles and influences. On the 'Hunted' album there were random moments where I felt like I was listening to Candlemass, regarding the vocals. 
 Afterthought: wasn't sure which genre to place them in, as I personally think they are a cross over of doom+stoner.

I think the whole Horns Up thing on this site isn't great anyway. Yeah, it's sort of cool to show your appreciation for a post, but I'd rather see them discontinued. It screams teen social media to me. 

Somehow, I've been going around "liking" stuff behind my own back. I'll read a thread and then be scrolling through activity later and see that I've been registered as giving a Horns Up! to the last post in the thread. This has happened three or four times over the past couple days; observing more closely the last time it happened, I found that it wasn't an accidental button press - it didn't show up at all while I was in the thread - but it was registered in the activity feed nonetheless when I went back. 
Does it matter? Probably not. Is it annoying? Yeah... My apologies to anyone who may have cared about whether I gave or retracted a Horns Up! to one of their posts. It's not you, it's me; but it's not me either. Anybody else experiencing this?

Honestly I don't think I can call it black metal, but I could see why some people do. It's right at the edge of melodic black metal. More folk metal to my ears. But that's splitting hairs. 
Great album in any case. Have you listened to their previous stuff? 

I myself am currently listening to The Palms of Sorrowed Kings by Obsequiae & I think I've finally found a "Black Metal" album I can listen to & enjoy. *Looks around for a Moment* This still counts as "Black Metal" right?

Crabcore is a kind of crustacean metalcore that scuttled sideways to hide in the depths of musical irrelevancy. It's tough and scary-looking on the outside, but inside it's just a bunch of mush. Most of the crabcore you can buy at the store isn't even real crab these days - it's completely fake. Pretty sad, really.

I have heard of them, but never listened to them much.  To my understanding, Earth was very influential for the members of Sunn.  I will have to check them out.

I like Black One a lot also, because I think the bm influence to be really cool.  The other album that I liked a lot was Dømkirke.  The use of the pipe organ on that album is awesome.
I haven't listened to either of their new albums yet, so I will need to check them out.
