Back to thread anyway, Pantera again, love the band and the majority of the music. 8/10 for this track alone.

The point I have proven was I was pointed out for mentioning Slayer in the same sentence as Holy Terror but Slayer is mentioned on the majority of the lists above, if Holy Terror were really that much of a deal in Thrash then they would be mentioned just as much if not more. How can a band be mentioned in the same realm as the big 4 but then never be mentioned in a generic conversation about thrash. Makes literally no sense.

I would like to just link this thread with a conversation at the moment in the rate the song above section that is focusing on the band Holy Terror. I notice that only one person on this thread listed them as a band that has produced one of the top ten thrash albums. I feel I have proven my point that Holy Terror are just not that good. Otherwise they would feature on every list. If a band is that easy to overlook then they are just not good enough to warrant the current conversation in the other thread.

What would make Holy Terror less commercially viable than any other band on the planet. I don't buy into that at all. If your music is good enough and your band gains enough of a following then your work speaks for itself. Enough HUGE bands still around today have come from nothing, worked hard and created a following. Maybe if they had been good enough they could have been added as a fifth in the big four of thrash but that did not happen for a reason. Short output bands tend to get a cult following and spoken about only in what ifs, what if they got more critical acclaim? What if they were more commercially viable? nonsense, what if they were just better at what they did and that would have brought them the notoriety that people claim they should have?

My Silent Wake - There Was Death

I listened to it on its release and to be honest it did not make me want to pick it up again. Although, Buried Deep is a great track and pops up in my playlist from time to time.

I went to Slayer in an attempt to show the disparity of success withing the same genre. Not to highlight musical ability. And how am I discrediting? Holy Terror never got any decent credit hence this conversation.

The band is labelled one of the most underrated, when all I hear is poor production and absolutely no clarity. I agree that some of the riffs are brilliant and in parts I can listen to Holy Terror simply due to the fact they sound different to all other thrash bands. But they were a group made up of sub-par musicians (With exceptions to Keith) that never elevated to the notoriety that so many call for these days for that simple fact. Sub-Par. You only have to look at the success of bands like Slayer or Megadeth to realise this.

I don't mind a bit of Rush from time to time, 5/10

Always think that finding out what people think is overrated in Metal/Rock is a good talking point. SO LETS DISCUSS. il start with 2 bands I will start with Metallica, To be called the greatest Thrash band ever is an insult to too many bands to list. The riffs are repetitive and boring and the vocals are a cacophony of poor singing and shouting. Not the absolute worst band but highly highly overrated in my opinion. Kiss - Literally a joke band. Without the stage show and circus act they preform the music is shit and Gene Simmons is a weirdo.

I will have to watch the above film. Should be a good watch.

Never have been or will be a fan of Kiss, always seen them as a joke, a bad one. 2/10
