All of our cats are rescues, one of them is a Brooklyn stray that we took in during a blizzard. Been six and half years now and she hasn't found her way back out the door yet...

We have two cats and one of those found us, or rather he found my girlfriend as he appeared one day at the bottom of her garden and over a period of a few weeks slowly ended up coming into the house.  He was in a terrible state, full of cuts and ragged looking and now he revels in his comfort and cosyness after goodness knows how many years of having a shit life.  He is still terrified of male strangers and runs for cover whenever someone knocks at the door.  He is however one of the most rewarding pets I have ever had.

I should buy a CD Walkman, they'd be dirt cheap probably.  Would prob cost me more in luggage charges though as all the CDs would blow my luggage allowance!

They were too busy grilling food and hanging out on the beach drinking. Apparently, all most Aussies care about is fun, fun, fun! And responding to a dour young man's college paper request just isn't fun when the ice is melting in your Mai Tai.

I have just written to my MP for the first time in my life.  I am not complaining about anything they have done either, I wrote to them asking if they would publicly back the 237,000 people who are pressing the Conservative Government to release figures to show how many people have died after having their benefits withdrawn.  The Department for Work & Pensioners is appealing against the Information Commissioner's ruling that these figures should be published as they are in the public interest.
My MP is part of the opposition so I would be very surprised if she said no, but it will be an interesting testing of the water anyway.

My kid is going through a real phase right now, and I think the issue is just that he needs to play and get outside a lot more than he does, which is already kind of a lot... And, he's learning the power of antonyms.
