1. just bought the Converge/Napalm Death split for $11.99. It's pretty awesome Converge does a Entombed cover. Sucks that there's only 4 songs though, still worth it.
2. Visited a shop called Dr. Strange Records down in Rancho Cucamunga and bought about 40 patches and few shirts. They got great deals, most of the patches I got were only 50 cents a piece except for a few back patches which were a dollar seventy five. Also got a few cds while I was shopping.
3. Just bought Thrash Zone by D.R.I. and Game Over by Nuclear Assault.
4. what about getting to rt 37? is it accessible from the interstate?
5. I only have to pay for repairs and fuel if I own or lease the truck as a company driver the only thing I ave to pay for is cost of living. And yes I try to find some good music when I get the chance. I'm always listening to music on phone when I drive, finally bought a jack to plug into my truck stereo. I honestly listen to music every chance I get.
6. I'll have to check it for low clearances and if it's a restricted route. I haven't taken before but who knows I just might. Have you seen any bridges that are 13'6'' or lower?
7. No problem death. Hey I passed through NJ not to long ago, if you ever wanna hang out sometime I might be able to stop in for a while maybe. I could show my truck, maybe run over your car with it, hang out until the police arrive you know that sort of thing.
8. To answer your 1st question Death, yes I do. I generally haul 80,000lbs around the country. As for your 2nd question, my company allows both options, either you get your own lawyer to review the contract, you get their lawyer to review the contract or you review yourself in other words you blindly sign a legal binding agreement. Unless of course you know the legal system but hey we're talking about a bunch of trucker here. Not exactly the brightest bunch.
9. There is the possibility that it could improve if I wait it out. I plan to lease a truck anyways after the winter passes which means I'm guaranteed $1.075 per mile since I have to make truck payments. Now while I'm promised a substantial pay raise, it wont matter if I can't drive the miles I need, at least 1800 miles a week. At the moment I get about 2000 a week. This is good but it just barely cover the fixed costs, I still have to pay for fuel and if I breakdown repairs also. When i first started I was getting almost 3000 miles a week which is about the max you can get as a solo driver. This was great even though I was only getting 28 cents a mile it still net me anywhere from $700-$900 a week take home. If I doo wait this out there is always the chance my company will get use to the new systems and I'll get all the miles I need but I'm still debating if I want to wait or take my chances with a different company. Trying to go to a different company right now would leave me with a $3000 fee for the training the company gave me, however if I got Lease/Operator that whole fee gets paid off since I have to sign a contract all of which are at least 2 1/2 years. I do like the sound of being able to run my truck the way I want and having the ability to decline a load if I so choose but I don't like contracts, there's always something the other party has hidden in the fine print and doesn't want you to see.
10. once again I find myself sitting and waiting for my company to get their heads out of their asses. This time however I'm scheduled to take my home time on the 3rd of March. Unfortunately I'm stuck in Kentucky, not to say that there's anything wrong with the state, I'd just rather be home right now instead sitting here with my thumb up ass. This whole merger with Swift is screwing with my ability to make money. My pay previous to the merger was 30 cents a mile, now I'm back down to 23 cents a mile. I ask you how the fuck am I supposed to make a living off $500 a week $200 of with goes to the cost of living over the road? What the hell am supposed to do hen I come home and can't even pay a phone bill? I really find this job quite annoying, at least the dealing with the company part. Hopefully one day I'll own my own truck and be able have the freedom of going about this as I please which is how it used to be until all this bullshit with the DOT happened. Hell I can't even drive my 11 hours the way I want, it HAS to be the way the DOT wants it to be even though by changing the rules they previously had it affects the trucking industry in a negative way, but hey fuck it right, it's perfectly fine as long as the DOT has it's way. Fuck this job is stressful enough without having to have the goddamn idiots who run the DOT breathing down my neck every step of the way.
11. can't say I really like that. 4/10 Eoiix5aFCQo
12. The only other genre of music I really enjoy listening to is hardcore punk, bands like The Exploited, The Addicts, Fucktard and bands of that nature, other than that I listen to metal almost exclusively.
13. RO a Deicide fan? Who'd of thought? My favorite album but not my favorite song, still good though 7/10 D6exw6xT0oo
14. Wow I really liked that song, I'm definitely gonna look more into this band. qj8BY3bvGJo
15. Insomnium has released an EP in honor of their new upcoming album. Personally I do lik it hoever its not nearly as great aas some of their previous work such as Across the Dark or In The Halls Of Awaiting but it's definitely a good album and I can always appreciate a good album. What do you guy think about their new EP? TKtlvdXN2aQ
16. Likewise Kishor, and it was going well until I realized that because of our merger with Swift that for some reason I am unable to fuel. So no I sit here waiting for my dispatch to fix this along with the 1000's of other problem that have arisen due to the changes in our dispatch communication system. It's actually gotten so bad that the phones lines to my dispatches office in Fontana CA are down. Of course this is all happening while I'm loaded and on a deadline. I need to be in Denver by tomorrow at 6am and im sitting in Snowville Utah. It's about a 11 hour drive so I do have some time to spare but I would prefer not to push my luck considering the weather has been shit as of late. I had chain up to go through Oregon just the other day and now I have to go through Wyoming and Colorado both of which have far worse weather. Yet here I sit waiting for this bullshit to end so I get moving again. Other than this current problem I've actually been quite good though, went and spent $1300 in 2 days about a week ago and I made $900 back the following week when I went back to work. And I'll make sure to check them out BAN. Any particular songs or albums you might recommend?
17. Up until now I've completely disregarded metalcore as a legitimate genre of metal. I must say though listening to some of the aforementioned bands I seem be drawn towards it (at least what now obviously seems to be the "true" metalcore and the, for lack a better word, poser shit that is considered metalcore nowadays). Point is perspective and some extensive knowledge of the genre are required to make an informed decision on whether or not to like the genre as a whole and now I would like to say while previously hating metalcore with a passion I now retract my feelings on the matter and must say that the bands Ive heard suggested and discussed about in this thread are actually quite good. The ones that stand out for me in particular are Axe to Fall ablum by Converge and the song by Dillinger Escape Plan that BAN suggested. I must say the right information can definitely help when searching for good bands in a fucked up genre. Well that's it people I'm off again to truck the US. I might be able to post something later on this week but no promises. As always keep it metal.
18. You know what that did help Ksmash. The officer who came out was actually nice enough not to give me a ticket since he felt bad about my situation. It's nice to meet people who don't over react and understand the situation enough to cut you some slack.
19. Thanks I should be good since the wreckers did it but I still might be in some shit
20. I'm sad to say this one was on me. I was head down a residential street and I wanted off of it however there were no turn that i could make without knocking over power poles so i decided to try and make a U-turn. As you can see it didnt go so well. one of the wreckers actually broke a ferring off of my truck so I might be getting fired sometiime soon after I get back from Avon NY
21. Fact #1 I'm stuck in the mud. Fact #2 Chicago fucking sucks for anything bigger than a prius Fact#3 It took 2 wreckers and a team of 7 people to get me out over a period of 4 hours
22. So i just got back from Chicago and it was by far the worst experience ever. Those roads were not meant for 53 foot trailers and should not have to be attempted like I had to. Now I have to go back tomorrow to pick up another load and take that to Avon New York. This shit just keeps getting worse and worse. I HATE Chicago.
