I've been wrong plenty of times and I've learned plenty of times. Last time I was on here I even confused Cannibal Corpse with brutal death metal just because I didn't know it was a real genre and thought it was just based on the themes. Most people I deal with are usually willing to learn, but this guy... well, I've said enough about him. I'd just be repeating myself.

It's impossible for me not to get worked up over cocky fucking posers like this that I deal with on an almost daily basis. Usually they aren't as bad as this, only every now and again do I have to come on here and type an essay to start feeling relieved. I'll say that there isn't a thing wrong with not being able to place bands in genres... just as long as you DON'T CLAIM TO KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT.

Welcome to the forum! I only need a drummer for my band that I'm starting too... It's hard enough to find someone here who listens to metal, let alone someone who plays it.

I'm about 500% fucking done. This fucking arrogant fucking poser I've been talking to... To start off, he begins saying that metalcore sucks when his profile picture is fucking ASHES OF THE WAKE. Bad enough? No? Okay. I mention it and how Lamb of God is metalcore. He proceeds to say that they're thrash/death. Still not bad enough? Got it. Then, apparently, I'm the one who knows nothing about the topic. He claims that they're not metalcore because... I'll just quote this idiot. "no their are not metal core at all lamb of god has to much ryhtm and use cords metal core bands have never touched and plus randy hits highnotes. something a metalcore band never does" Still not fucking bad enough? Since apparently metalcore bands have no "ryhtm" and don't touch whatever cords this idiot is mentioning, I mention Beneath The Massacre. Super technical metalcore band, right? I also bring up how 30% of LoG songs are breakdowns, while the rest are grooving riffs and hardcore-influenced vocals/lyrics. So he states that apparently he "eats sleeps and breathes real metal" and he's not a poser. I argue that he is a poser because he's acting to know a bunch of shit that he doesn't. I'll just quote this bit, "dude what the fuck i know alot about metal its all i do" STILL NOT BAD ENOUGH? He continues with saying I'm getting my facts from wiki (stopped doing that when I was 8) and if I listen to LoG I'll hear death and thrash metal and "even the guys in l.o.g will say thats what they are i know my stuff". I could stop here, but there's MORE. I argue that just because the members claim that they're something doesn't mean shit. I used Suicide Silence as my example. Then just more stuff about anyone at all who knows their genres will classify LoG as groove/metalcore, or one of the two. I'll quote another part. "l.o.g has to much rythme to be metalcore. i am an expert i know it's sound cocky buy if you knew me then you would know that iam not some hottopic bandwagoner and that i know what iam talking about." So, I mention Beneath The Massacre and how I use Metal-Archives to double-check myself and that it's a reliable source if he ever wants to know what the hell he's talking about. I'll quote what he said next: "dude go to hell i know what iam talking about and i dont need to double check. metalcore bands tend to only hit power chords if you listen to Mark morton play its almost classicall" Then I just give up on the dumbass and leave with calling him an arrogant dumbass poser. His last quote, "i know my fucking music and you are just to stupid to realize it,i dont give a fuck what you heard on some website i get my info from listening." I mentioned Beneath The Massacre three times and he still didn't reply to that because he's too cocky to bother listening to them. He'd probably just classify them as traditional or some shit. All of the quotes are spot-on with what he typed. This is what I have to deal with. This was my day.

Eh, Darkane is alright. I've had them in my collection for a while. The problem with what you said is that I don't like super brutal shit. I don't like gore (though sometimes it's alright, if it's filled with hate) or rape or whatever the usual topics they choose. Reasons that I don't really listen to Infant Annihilator, Carcass, or Cannibal Corpse.

Yeah, I discovered them about a month ago. It's getting hard to find more tech-death considering that not many people have the talent to play it...
