  1. I’m far too lazy to actually multi quote folks, so I’ll just address the topics here: 1. Deicide have exactly 2 albums that are even worth bothering to check out, and it’s the first two., beyond that they are, at least in my opinion, the most boring, generic, and uninspired, death, metal band on the planet. 2. I dig Morbid Angel but they are the sort of band that either works for you, or don’t, there’s not really a middle ground. 3. I’d rank Inquisition as follows: 1. Nefarious 2.Majestic Throne 3. Magnificent Glorification 4. Bloodshed 5.Ominous Doctrines 6. Obscure Verses 7. Veneration 8. Black Mass 9. Infernal Regions NP: Darkspace - Dark Space III (2007)
  2. I agree, there’s not really a weak point, however this resonates with me more at the moment than black mass did, that could just be recency bias though. NP:Bolt Thrower - The IVth Crusade
  3. I don’t know if it’s up on YouTube, but it’s up on my Spotify, as for my thoughts on the album, I like it better than Black Mass For a Mass Grave
  4. Inquisition - Veneration of Medieval Mysticism and Cosmological Violence (2024)
  5. Wolves of Perdition - Ultraviolence (2024) {Finland} Solid enough black metal, i’ve heard worse.
  6. Perishing - Lutum demo (2024) {Costa Rica} The guitar tone here is crushing, Doom/Death that’s more Coffins then My Dying Bride.
  7. Vual - To End All Life (2020) Hatefilled blackened sludge, just what I need
  8. Mourning Dawn - The Foam of Despair (2024) Hmm I forgot about these guys after Les sacrifices. They’re still going, good for them, but this does nothing for me
  9. Yeah, I saw that, I guess I was hoping they were being a little tongue in cheek about it, but after five minutes of the exact same riff the only thing they’ve got going for them Is that nice fuzzy guitar tone. NP: Resin Tomb - Cerebral Purgatory i’m still on the fence about this one, what I will say is, I think it sounds better through headphones than it does through speakers, but I wish there was more substance here.
  10. Dozethrone - Departure of Souls (2024) {Singapore} They claim to be sludge, but to my ear it’s Stoner/Doom.
  11. You never know they could’ve been listening to the blues, Howland, Wolf, and Muddy Waters had been putting out music for years by that point… You never know they could’ve been listening to the blues, Howlin’ Wolf and Muddy Waters had been putting out music for years by that point… Honestly, I’m surprised it’s taken until this late in the summer for Adelaide to get its first 40+ Celsius day, you get this to it When you’ve lived here all your life. But yes if the power goes out I’m right fucked
  12. Crowbar - Time Heals Nothing it’s 41° here at the moment, 105, for those of you, who measure temperature the wrong way, perfect sludge weather
  13. Resin Tomb - Cerebral Purgatory (2024) {Australia} its dissonant death/grind. I don’t know how I feel about this one, I’ll put it this way it’s not doing anything I don’t like, but the overall package isn’t something I’m sold on just yet.
  14. Glorior Beli - Manifesting the Raging Beast (2007)
  15. Young and in the way - Ride Off and Die (2020) Some Crusty BM here
  16. Excellent band, and the new album is just a couple of days away if I’m not mistaken. NP: Recrucify - Awakening of the Satan’s Kommand EP (2010) {Peru} The rough production helps this tbh, and I find it amusing that I’ve trained my YouTube algorithm to start recommending obscure extreme metal releases.
  17. Rapture - Aeons of Devestation (2023) {Chile} Damn Chile is pumping out a heap of Death Metal. This is clearly influenced by Morbid Angel, pretty cool stuff.
  18. I was already getting bullied for the whole vision impaired thing, so being the nerdy metal head who liked the wrong sports team couldn’t really do any more damage to my high school social status. I guess for better or worse I’ve never really seen the point in hiding the person I am, probably could have spared myself a considerable amount of trauma if I had done but equally, I doubt I would have the same, don’t you tell me what I can’t do attitude if I had bow down to oubut equally, I doubt I would have the same, don’t you tell me what I can’t do attitude if I had bow down to out side pressure. NP: Motörhead - Bomber
  19. Evil Angel - Unholy Fight For Metal (2007)
  20. I too, was awake around 4 am this morning, but that’s just because insomnia fucking sucks, thank Cthulhu for coffee or I’d really be cranky. In other news I’m going to inquire about other musicians when I’m in at the place, I do my guitar lessons later today, figure it’s about time I try and put a band together.
  21. Haha fair, but you’re talking to the guy who read the Hobbit and LotR by age 10 so unashamedly nerdy… NP: Sykdom - Under Krigen (2006) {Norway} something else, I forgot I owned, very reminiscent of Bergtat by Ulver
  22. Perhaps, but Summoning and Rivendell pretty much exclusively write about Tolkien… NP: Overkill - Horrorscope
  23. Yeah I stumbled across that Sovereign album a couple of days ago. Honestly, I made it a couple of tracks in before getting bored and moving onto something else s
  24. CoF are fine through to Cruelty and the Beast, after that I really lost interest. Honestly gothic metal has never really been something which appealed to me, you already rattles off the only other bands in the style which I find palatable.
