  1. Re: Hog Justice Room - Who Would You Lock In? I'm gonnae get slagged for this but another contender to be Hog-whipped is Cathedral. I saw them once and they were awful, but that Mathew Hopkins video/song is up there with Manowar for Cheesiest Metal Of All Time. They seem to have been a cult band, but I honestly thought that video was a parody of metal. Hoggie: time to get some blood into it mate!
  2. I put this question on the Terrorizer Forum earlier this year, so apologies if you saw it on there (I don't go on there anymore-with the exception of a couple of good blokes, the rest were a bunch of stuck-up wanks in the mould of 'Comic Book Guy' from the Simpsons). Anyway, here's mine, and it's accompanied with a rating (as per Scottish TV show Chewing The Fat i.e. Good-guy/wank). Sorry most of them are punks, but at punk festivals the bands all drink with the fans!! Rory Gallagher (good guy) Dee Snider (good guy) Janick Gers (good guy) Chris Kontos (Machine Head-good guy) Pinch (The Damned/English Dogs/The Weren't- good guy) Wakey (English Dogs/The Weren't- good guy) Wattie (Exploited - good guy) JJ Bedsore (The Blood-wank) Max Splodge (Splodgenessabounds/Angelic Upstarts-wank) Charlie Harper (UK Subs-good guy) Jock (GBH-good guy) Mickey Fitz (The Business-good guy)
  3. Re: Hog Justice Room - Who Would You Lock In? When placed alongside The Dartkness, it's difficult to tell who's the joke band... Trying SO hard to be the purest of metal (or purest of anything, really) is the same as politics-the farther you go to the far left, the closer you get to the far right. Trying to be the ultimate pure metal band and making a stand against 'false metal' makes Mnowar look like The Darkness-a fake metal band if ever there was one! I could accept Manowar if they wrote good songs. They don't.
  4. Re: Hog Justice Room - Who Would You Lock In? Ha Ha!! Superb!! The old bastard that she is. Back to metal, surely Axle fuckin Rose needs locked in that room. Apparently at his recent Glasgow show the local hired roadies/security were told the day before not to bother turning up until 11pm-and they have to turn up 2 hours before the show is due to end. So Rose had his late showing all planned out the day before. Prick-send him in to meet the randy pig!
  5. Re: \m/ JUDAS PRIEST! \m/ Isn't it funny that Halford writes about similar characters in his lyrics? You know, the lone renegade, leather clad bringer of salvation who rides into town, laying waste to the oppressors of the people. And then bumming them, probably. Can you name as many of them as you can? I'll start off with: Painkiller Sinner Leather Rebel Exciter The Sentinel Leather Rebel Hell Bent For Leather Running Wild
  6. Re: who do you really, really like... Did Monty Python not write a song about those guys? "Socrates himself is particularly missed, A lovely little thinker but a bugger when he's pissed". I tend not to get 'close' to politicians-they have a terrible habit of letting you down...

  8. Re: Hog Justice Room - Who Would You Lock In? Ha Ha!!! Classic!!! You must be British to come out with that fucked up humour-brilliant mate!!!! For the record, British Olympic legend Sebastian Coe needs locked up in there. Fuckin' toffee nosed snobby arrogant wee Tory shite. Lining his pockets while seats lie empty at the Olympics. Prick.
  9. Re: R.I.P. Jon Lord Just back from a 2 week cruise round the Med and read about his poor Lordship. Not mentioned on ANY of the TV channels the ship had-typical. His sound made Purple the unique band they were. And the 'classic' Whitesnake line-up. Most definitely not my bag baby but Lord, again, gave a band that unique sound. Coming back from my holiday I was actually expecting a legendary musician to have died-happening every other week now. It's just a sign of the age of these guys-and me I suppose!
  10. Re: Judas Priest, Fight! or Halford? The 1st Halford album is brilliant, and the 2nd is worth buying. I'd go so far as to say the 1st one is better than Angel of Retribution. Fight had a couple of good tracks (Into the Pit for one). Haven't heard Two.
  11. Re: \m/ JUDAS PRIEST! \m/ I think Priest suffered for years by not having a decent drummer. When I heard Painkiller when it came out, I thought JEEZUZ! The drummer they've been looking for about 10 years! That nonce-case they had drumming for them in the '80s would have made Painkiller a lot duller than the face-ripper that it is. He should have went to drum lessons instead of kiddie-fiddling. And also, I sit and think "what might have been" if Scott Travis had been the drummer on Rapid Fire. Great song, but slightly tepid.

  13. Re: CRAP ALBUMS THAT YOU LIKE Funny, that, coz I really like Point of Enrty, and that got/still gets, slaughtered.

  17. Re: Liv Moon?! Ever since I heard Unleashed In The East and other live albums recorded in Japan, I've been intrigued as to why the crowd sounds like a load of silly screaming schoolgirls? Is it because the audience IS made up of silly screaming schoolgirls or am I missing something major about Japanese metal fans?
  18. Re: This was a bitch to sew on Fantastic, Rapid! I know all about Ebay patches-sold a load last year on there! Lizzy,AC/DC, Motorhead etc tour patches from the '80s. Got about £40 for an Iron Maiden 1980 UK Tour patch and badge last year. My days of wearing those jackets are sadly by.... My missus wouldn't be seen dead out with me wearing one!
  19. Re: This was a bitch to sew on Fantastic, Rapid! Good old traditional patches on a denim jacket with the sleeves pulled off!! Metal as absolute fuck!!!! In the UK in the late '70s and '80s we not only had patches on our jackets, but we would embroider bands logos onto our jackets. I wish i'd kept mine!
  20. Re: CLASSIC ALBUMS YOU ACTUALLY HATE Ya swines! if I thought that this would turn into a Twisted Sister hating post I'd never have started it! One of my favourite bands ever. Here's another classic crap album- Metallica-The Black Album. I honestly don't see the 'classic' in songs like Friend or Foe. Just dull.
  21. I don't mean the ones you're naturally prejudiced against (Slipknot etc), but ones you feel you should like but don't. Here's a few sacred cows ready for the barbie- Black Sabbath-Paranoid. Sorry folks, the flavour of the decade just doesn't tickle my pickle. I blame Ozzy for too many ballads. Motley Crue-Girls, Girls, Girls. Christ. Bad Boy Boogie. Really? AC/DC-Black Ice. My favourite band of all-time returned with an, admittedly, consistant album. But it was just AC/DC-by-numbers. Nothing exciting, fast or 'electrifying' as they were once described. A rock album. Nothing more, nothing less. AC/DC-Dirty Deeds. The least played album by the Gods. Too much dullsville. But not a poor album, just not a classic. Anthrax-Anything. Maybe good in their day, but I remember their day. It's not very memorable. And they have the occasional good song, I have nothing against them. Sepultura-Arise. I like the Seps, but think this is just throw-away. Obituary-Slowly We Rot. that's been the biggest regret of my life, buying that rubbish. There's been some dodgy metal singers over the years, but that takes the biscuit. In fact, I wish I'd spent the money on biscuits. The Sex Pistols-The Great Rock 'n 'Roll Swindle. Okay, not metal, well, not anything, actually. Apart from 'Silly Thing' this should be wiped from music history. Go on-crucify me!!
  22. Re: Best place for metal t shirts? H34VYM3T4LD4V3 Try Ebay. I've found that for that bepsoke tshirt it's the bees knees. Many dealers will make up a shirt to your exact specification.
