  1. Re: Heavy Metal Farmer To this, I have but two replies DCBhc7X0uiU and of course CeZlih4DDNg Humour is the spice of metal life in my opinion.
  2. Re: Underrated or Unknown Metal Sounds good, I'll take a look now. Australia though, I've noticed, has got some good metal, but on the whole it's spoiled by a lot of core music, all of which is so similar to Parkway Drive that I cannot help but feel as though our industry is ailing. I hope you enjoy those bands. A lot of them are my little secret enjoyment... I'm the only one that knows them well, and I'm happy for it.
  3. Re: Heya guys Thanks for the welcomes guys I'm actually an Ominium Gatherum fan, but I haven't given them enough of a listen I'll admit. I will most definitely look further into them Thanks again
  4. Re: Underrated or Unknown Metal Oh I could give you a few. Subterranean Masquerade definitely fall into this category. They're a brilliant band whose albums are nearly impossible to find, except over the internet, but my parents are a little... anxious about internet shopping, so that's never going to happen while I live with them, and they have so few seeds on any downloading torrent that I actually couldn't download them after 6 months. Gardenian are definitely underrated, only a couple of albums are around by these guys, but they are the true embodiment of high quality metal. Zyklon are a blackened death metal band that released 3 albums in their time. I can recommend the song "Psyklon Aeon" Imperanon is highly recommended... I'm not sure about their popularity, but I'm of the impression they aren't well known. Hieronymus Bosch is a tech death band that are definitely worth checking out. Catamenia is a bit of black metal that I love that might need a bit more popularity Noumena are a brilliant Finnish band that have heavy death growl vocals, and mixed with an overlay of clean, female vocals in a few of their songs. The song "Triumph and Loss" is definitely my favourite of their brilliant works. Suffocation aren't very popular where I'm from, but their brutal stylings are enough to make me very happy to listen, and headbang along. Tvangeste are similar to Cradle of Filth. Definitely worth checking them out if you're a fan of that sort of thing. I'm not 100% sure if these are all underrated or unknown, but I know a few are very underrated and very few of my friends from the Australian Metal Community as a whole know of them.I recommend looking at all of them, and enjoying thoroughly. I hope that helps
  5. Hi there, I am General Metal, just a general metal fan, into pretty much everything there is that is metal. I have even been known to listen to some core music... but that's core, not metal, even if it's "metalcore". I hope that I'll be able to remember to log on here at least once a day... I barely remember to check facebook as it is. (Therefore, I just don't close it) I will always type as though I'm talking to you. Using proper punctuation, and spelling and the such (not that anyone really cares, but I just find it makes things easier to read), and as such, I overuse commas. Favourite bands include: In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, Opeth, Behemoth, Dark Fortress, Vesania, Arch Enemy, Korpiklaani, Nightwish, Apocalyptica, And many many more. I'm always up to hear new music, so if you have any suggestions, feel free to let me know. My Last.Fm profile is in my signature.
  6. Re: Christian Black Metal An anti-religious, or pro-pagan lyrical theme works with the music and the vocals. When I first heard of Unblack metal, I was staunchly shocked, and I swear, if I hadn't been rolling with laughter, I might have been slightly offended. Either way, lyrics ARE important, but when it comes to Unblack metal, well... I try to tune them out, or just rebuild them with better lyrics, just so I don't feel like I'm going to hell... and since I don't believe in the place, that says quite a lot.
  7. Re: Your favorite death metal bands? Most definitely In Flames. I know many people will say they aren't death metal any more, but follow my logic here, they were pioneers of melodeath, and therefore, should be able to make more than just melodeath, as otherwise it'd be monotonous. But when it comes to the more "true" death metal bands, gotta love Dark Tranquillity, and Arch enemy. So many bands... heh. Death Metal is what keeps me sane I think.
  8. Re: In Flames In Flames are my favourite band, so I can't fault even their newest albums, I mean, in my opinion Come Clarity was their best album, but I especially loved their older stuff up to Whoracle. Heroic music. But I think it's good that they are branching out a bit. I mean, I hear a lot of people complaining about their new sound, and how it's nothing like Clayman, or Colony, but the way I see it, it is just creating a bit of variation in their work. Listening to all of their albums on shuffle gives you such a wide range of music, from songs like "Morphing into Primal" and "Clayman" and the such, to "Come Clarity" and "The Chosen Pessimist"... definitely one of the most skilled bands around in my personal opinion. Best overall track record too.
