Only Stephen King adaptations that have been any good are ones he's had a part in and even a few of them have been average. I tend not to worry about what Hollywood will do to fuck things up any more. Hollywood want easy, they want known characters and known story lines that they can rearrange and call new. Nothing they release these days has me excited, even the movies I actually watch don't hold the same excitement they once might have. A book from any one of a dozen different authors I can still get excited about, maybe not as much as I once did, but I do still wait for new release books and often pre-order books because I want to read them not just want to pass time.

No idea if it's for real but I saw it posted somewhere else a few weeks ago when the pineapple on pizza topic arose. I figure it's about right, anyone who can't handle pineapple would be a kiwi fruit. That said I have a slight allergy to pineapple and shouldn't eat it, but I'd still eat pineapple over pizza any day.

Fark, shows how good my geography is. I've got a bunch of guys I talk to every few days up in the thick of things in Quebec but I thought you were a lot further away from the fires than that. One day I'll look at a map and see where the fuck America actually is. That orange glow is a mind fuck the first time. I remember standing on my veranda at 2pm and the entire undercover area (about 14m long) was orange and everything beyond it was black. By night time when it was supposed to be black there was nothing but orange.

Not related to favourite MegaDave albums but I read an article today where MegaDave reckons it's costs them between $45K and $52K per day to have a day off on their current tour (wages, buses, trucks etc). Obviously different bands could cut those costs but its a fucking expensive tour when it costs that much to have a day off.

You got out of the car? I haven't been asked out of a vehicle since the 80's when the cops used to do the walk the line sobriety test. I also haven't had a road fine in over 20 years. However I break the law pretty much every day. The revolving light on the tractor keeps falling off so these days I don't even bother connecting it when I'm on the road. I'm also technically not supposed to carry four round bails on the forks while on the road but I do most days during winter. The light is a $135 fine and the overloading is about $500 but the local cops don't ask questions. Despite any other laws I might have broken I've never spent time in a cell with the door locked. I did spend one night in a cell sleeping off a gut full of booze and who knows what else but the cop never locked us in.

Don't care for literature classic or not so classic, I'm not intellectual enough to read that stuff. I do read 5 or 6 books a month, some from known authors some from unknown authors self publishing their waffle just like I did for a while. Most of my interest sits in horror/thriller, spy, crime, and I do tend to read quite a bit of Aussie fiction. But I also read bios, some true crime and I've even been known to read a bit of science, maths and physics related books when the mood hits me.
