  1. Went a little crazy on bandcamp this morning. Picked up some things I've had on my list for a while, a few I thought I had, and some new items. The Moulting by Tomb Mold The Bottomless Perdition by Tomb Mold Deathbed Sessions by Sepulchral Curse Moon of Foul Magics by Autonoesis Black Cascade by WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM Diadem of 12 Stars by WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM Age of Excuse by Mgła With hearts toward none by Mgła Apocalypse Sun by Nightbringer Two Hunters by WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM Groza by Mgła Queen Of The Night by Vandal Moon SPLIT 2017 by культура курения/regnmoln Обскур by культура курения Некрофилия by культура курения Холодные Провода/Цемент (EP) by культура курения Рвота (EP) by культура курения Blackbraid I by Blackbraid Is Your Heart Still Unmoved Towa... by Pleasure Policy Shadows by Twin Tribes
  2. Cult of Fire - Triumvirat Cult of Fire - Life, Sex, and Death
  3. Rahu - self-titled Albionic Hermeticism - Psalms to the Father Circle of Ouroborus - Kiromantia Blackbraid - Blackbraid - had to check out the hype. Have to say I dig it.
  4. Low and slow brother. 1-1.5 hours per pound at 230 until internal is at 200F. Add in prep (the pork and the smoker) and the cool off period, 10 hours easy. Sounds about right. The best thing to me is the leftovers (there's only 3 of us so there's always a bunch). Makes great hash with some diced sweet potato, green pepper, onion, jalapeno, and cheese. Breakfast burritos, baked potatoes, even with fried rice. One of the most versatile meats along with brisket.
  5. Total cooking time today, 10 hours. I certainly understand people not wanting to go to that trouble. Definitely an all day effort.
  6. I'm not the biggest pulled pork fan, especially if I'm not the one cooking it. If I am however, I'll eat it for days. Best thing I've bought in a long time was a Big Green Egg. I thought they were overrated and ridiculously expensive, but I'm here to tell you that they are worth every bit of money they cost. Not a weekend goes by that there's not a butt, slab of ribs, brisket, something on it. Used more than my oven, and I cook a lot.
  7. This 8lb pork butt imma bout to put in the smoker.
  8. So yeah, I dig this. I haven't listened to the rest of their albums, but the entire discography is like $8 on bandcamp. Некрофилия | культура курения (bandcamp.com)
  9. Haven't yet, but thanks for the tip. I'll check them out now.
  10. Autonoesis - Moon of Foul Magics - a little bit of death, thrash, and black from Canada. NYP on bandcamp too btw.
  11. Vandal Moon - Queen of the Night - FFO New Order and other synth-driven new-wave/synthwave/darkwave type music
  12. Weird Ukrainian black metal. A little too weird at times, but strangely appealing. Reminds me of something Wagner Odegard would put out. Høstvind - Høstvind (Full Demo)
  13. This is pretty good. Thanks hungarino!
  14. KISS - Alive! Sacred Reich - Ignorance
  15. Probably my favorite of theirs. At least the one I reach for most often. That record just has the perfect mix of melody, melancholy, and songwriting that just hits me just right. Mork - Pesta Autopsy - Mental Funeral
  16. Is really good. There whole discography is impeccable, but this one is the best IMO. Enslaved - Axioma Ethica Odini Mortiferum - Preserved in Torment
  17. Yeah, I see their kind of stuff either working live or being a disaster depending on the day. Most proggy music loses me live even though I enjoy it recorded. Sound board and venue play as much a part as the band themselves. Atheist has been the worst offender, but not the only.
  18. Probably the worst band I've ever seen live. Just a chaotic mess both times I've seen them. And one of the best. Never leave a Midnight show without something interesting having happened.
  19. Really good live. Glad I got a chance to see them. One of the highlights of the weekend. This morning: Sumerlands - Sumerlands Ordinance - In Purge There is no Remission Wolves In The Throne Room - Primordial Arcana - another highlight of the weekend
  20. Yes, can agree. Fate was incredible.
  21. It was so loud. Met dude in the elevator too. Nice guy. Last night wrap up. Several decent sets and a couple of phenomenal ones. ASG - very good. Solid set with an emphasis on my favorite album from them. Cirith Ungol - best set I've seen from them. I've seen them 4 times since reforming and they keep getting better. Katatonia - uhh.... made it 2 songs. Euro pop top 40 crap. High on Fire - outstanding as usual. No such thing as a low key HOF set. Mercyful Fate - I mean c'mon. It's Fate. Got a little greasy up front and I think all of the toes on my left foot are smashed, but it was worth it. Only thing they could have played that they didn't is Desecration of Souls. All the hits. Sound was perfect. All time set. The Dwarves - about the only band in Vegas that could top Fate. Well almost. It's a fucking punk show junior. Let's get high and fuck some sluts. She Past Away - just a couple of songs as a good fest closer. Dreamy synth goth to cleanse the pallette and wrap it up. Was going to catch Rotting Christ, but my feet are roached. They couldn't have topped Fate and The Dwarves anyway. All in all, this isn't my favorite festival, but it is fun and pulls some great headliners. A little too much I'm not interested in for the money, however the mix is a good draw for them to make a decent profit. All the band guys I met seemed to really enjoy it too. More classy than MDF or Hell's Heroes although they have better lineups. Going to have to pull in something special to get me back next year though. So fest highlights: Mercyful Fate Emperor Mayhem mgla Cirith Ungol The Dwarves Bombers Crematory Stench 200 Stab Wounds ASG Disappointments: Katatonia - not that I was expecting much Undeath Surprised: I actually enjoyed Samael's set. A little more Rammstein than I bargained for, but not bad overall.
  22. So far this morning: Lord Buffalo - mistaked these guys for King Buffalo. Not bad but not particularly impressive. Undeath - meh. Pretty standard unoriginal death metal. Crematory Stench - caveman, knuckle dragging death metal. Good shit.
