  1. Help!!! - King Diamond. Love this.
  2. Got King Diamond - Dreams of Horror and a Type O Negative compilation today as I had some HMV vouchers.
  3. Been on a bit of a break and haven't got anything new for a while, or things that I planned to get. But Celtic Frost - Morbid Tales and King Diamond - Fatal Portrait were waiting for me when I got back from the gym today, so I'm certainly glad I did get round to getting them.
  4. Celtic Frost - Visions of Mortality.
  5. Warning - Black Sabbath. Been while since I listened to that - good stuff.
  6. Not a comparison. Not at all. It's just the openings which stuck me as oddly similar but after that there is really no similarity to be made between the two as they are really totally different in style and intent after the first ten seconds.
  7. Mercyful Fate - nuns have no fun. The opening always makes me think that I've put on Judas Priest living after midnight it sounds so similar.
  8. Mercyful Fate - two from the vault Melissa and The Beginning. Been meaning to get round to adding these to the collection. Got some songs off their rare and unreleased cd too.
  9. They have a lot of variety in their songs so you couldn't call them metal as such but definitely an influence though with their hard rock/metal sound on their early albums.
  10. Might see what this turns out like but I'm not particularly interested tbh.
  11. Night comes down - Judas Priest. They always do such nice ballads.
  12. Megadeth - last rites/loved to deth
  13. How are you finding that? I'm thinking of getting it, but I wasn't too sure about the previews they released from it so I need to listen to it in it's entirety I think.

    Books?

I mostly like classic novels - Bronte's etc. Just finished Dracula. Reading it really shows how no film adaption has ever really been accurate - the Coppola version is good if only they hadn't added the Dracula/Mina romance when it's not in the book. I like Herzog's 1979 remake of Nosferatu (1922) actually - They are both really creepy and have a sense of doom not really present in others. The silent one perhaps more so because it's so old - somehow the grainy black and white adds to it.
  15. Candlemass - Solitude. Wow.Pentagram - Be Forewarned. Really interesting - has that old school bluesy style but with a darker twist. Like it.
  16. The Mission - Wasteland. Good goth band. Always liked the bass on this. Bit like The Sisters of Mercy - Marian but then two members of the Mission are from the Sisters of Mercy.
  17. Hey thanks for the recommendation. I'll have a listen.
  18. Nice. UFO's a good choice. I like UFO - lights out and phenomenon are good.
  19. Judas Priest screaming for vengeance live DVD. Had this for a while. Watched it again earlier - really good.
  20. Iron maiden piece of mind full album. Classic. The only thing is though I like Iron Maiden but I can never get really into them as I always feel like their stuff is good but kind of just variations of the same thing. I like to be surprised and enthralled by how a song, or collection of songs develop, perhaps in unexpected ways. But I never quite get that from this or number of the beast, powerslave etc. I found seventh son kind of interesting but still not enough to make it an absolute favourite. In some ways I actually like their albums with Paul Di'anno better. They're not as polished but l like that. Still don't rank them in my absolute favourites. I like them but don't love them.
