  1. Listening to/watching Metallica on tv live at Glastonbury now. Set list not anything out of the ordinary - played creeping death, for whom the bell tolls, master of puppets , one , nothing else matters, enter sandman, whiskey in the jar and others. High concentration on the black album with some earlier and later stuff. Glad they've played some stuff of ride and master of puppets - thought they might not at it's Glastonbury which isn't exactly known as a hard rock/metal festival, so that's some good, but it's not like they've played anything out of the ordinary. Nothing from Kill em' All though I'm not sure that the bbc broadcast the full thing. But I wish they'd play a few more off ride, kill em' all and master of puppets. - hopefully the four horsemen, Orion, fight fire with fire etc. But we'll see. Live, they're not what they were, such as in the 1989 Seattle concert, but it's still a good performance. Good to see them blowing the cobwebs off so to speak at Glastonbury, considering that it has such mainstream exposure. Granted, it is a 'trendy' 'hipster' sort of place, and I find it a bit funny when the bbc presenters have been hyping them up when they've never back Metallica or hard rock/metal on radio 1 et cetera. but it nice to see some heavy music there (along with Robert Plant and Brian Ferry)- better than the usual indie bands, Coldplay or Beyonce edit: Yes! They're playing seek and destroy as an encore!

  3. Altars of Madness interests me in places - certainty enough for me to listen some more and see what I think to the rest of it. Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  4. yes I know! it is very odd how I seem to end up liking similar things to you, isn't it? hmm I don't know, I always seem to be good at getting classic/influential stuff - that's just what tends to happen. I chose Individual thought patterns in the end partly because I wasn't sure if I'd listened to it as much. I'm glad I did - it's great. but then I think it wouldn't have mattered much which i got anyway on that score. Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  5. Death - Individual Thought Patterns double disk reissue. Couldn't decide whether to get this one or Symbolic (they didn't have this so that made it simpler, although it's the one I was really after), Spiritual Healing, Leprosy or Sound of Perseverance, but I chose this one - The others also soon! Had a listen to Morbid Angel - Alters of Madness too - sounds interesting so I may get that once I've listened to it a bit more.
  6. Morbid Angel - visions from the Dark Side. Been having a look into death metal today - now that I have time on my hands since my exams are finished. Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk

Thought I might not get my essay in on time - but I did so it's all turned out good in the end Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  11. Picked up new black sabbath - black sabbath and paranoid cds. I really like it when cds come in card sleeves rather than plastic. So much nicer.! Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk

  15. Judas Priest - Beyond the Realms of Death. Tipton's solo is just... extraordinary Judas Priest - Painkiller album - Haven't listened to this properly as I've always tended to stick with their 70s output but as good as that is (their best really) I wanted something else. Definitely a return to form here though. Curious to know what their new album Redeemer of Souls will be like actually. listened to the tracks they released - not bad, but not sure if there is anything too remarkable. But I shall see what I think of the whole thing first.
  16. The first CD I bought was S Club - 7 The shame. I was only about 5 or 6 though so it's not that bad. granted the next thing I liked was Rihanna's Good Girl Gone Bad Album... But then I had to find a song to sing from the sixties in music class, as we had to do one for each decade each week. So I looked through my Dad's CDs and picked The Rolling Stones - Paint it Black. And from then on I didn't bother with the music charts or pop anymore. Had I had he same music knowledge as I do now, I would have picked a better song to sing to represent the 70s though. Possibly Joan Baez - Diamonds and Rust with Judas Priest's acoustic take on the song.I'd love to sing a Judas Priest song actually or Deep Purple - but I don't think I can realistically manage that Wish I could though. I've always liked to sing.
  17. Listened to this earlier. Love the opening - how it just builds up. Very atmospheric. The whole thing is good actually. Vocals not particularly my thing - but I don't mind them here.... I find it quite fitting actually the more I listen to it.
  18. Yeah I'm definitely going to check more of their albums out. Nightfall is great. Plenty of good tracks but probably need to listen to it a few times to fully digess. So listened to Cathedral - carnival bizarre. Liked that so I bought it. Lots of goid songs again so will need to listen again. That's no bad thing though . Also a bit of Forest of Equilibrium. Heavy stuff there. Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
