It's a very privileged existence that we have in the EU.  Michael Moore in a recent interview said that we not only get to be part of the EU but we also get to keep our own money which in the grander scheme of things is a biggie as most other nations got the Euro!  He also compared it to football (let me know if I lose you here) saying that if we as a country are in the Premier League why would we opt to drop into the lower tiers of the football league and operate at division one level for example?  

There's a lot of conjecture and misquoted figures about what the EU costs and even blatant lies about where that "saved" money would go should we leave (£350 million a week back into the NHS - which is bollocks frankly).

Basically you can summarise it like this:

Brexit argument - "FUCKING IMMIGRANTS COMING OVER HERE TAKING ALL OUR JOBS SHAGGING ALL OUR WOMEN AND USING UP OUR HEALTHCARE AND BENEFITS (oh and yes, something about fishing and democracy back under our control blah, blah)"

Bremain argument - "I am David Cameron and I want to stay in the EU for the continued support of my rich European friends so that I can continue my reign of Terror in the UK and not get overthrown by an even bigger Establishment hugging prick called Boris Johnson."

Either way we wake up on the 24th June in a country that is still broken, still financially ruined form paying a "public" national debt that doesn't actually exist in real terms that we still have to endure crushing austerity to "reduce".  Nothing will change for the better regardless of which way the vote goes.

Caught in a debate on Facebook (that pillar of common sense and intelligent, well-researched debate) about the EU Referendum.  In response to my point about how largely pointless the result is because nothing will happen positively whether we are in or we are out, and how one side blame immigrants for all that is ill with the UK and how the other just wants to remain in the EU to legitimise its reign of terror, someone genuinely wrote "I don't blame immergrants!"

All hope is lost.

Not many realise that the band split after the Empire tour. I read an interview where Tate admitted that at the time Queensryche had got to the point where there was nowhere else to go.

If I recall they'd already cobbled together Promised Land while touring Empire but were effectively 'done'.

In hindsight they should have pulled the plug but you can't blame them for hanging round as the coin finally came rolling in....

Can't recall the exact events but something changed and they begged DeGarmo to come back and he wrote 90% of Hear in the Now Frontier and when that album tanked they and the label effectively blamed him and he fucked off for good.

The new stuffs ok but it's not got that magic that Tate & De Garmo bought in their prime.

The first with La Torre had promise but the production killed it, haven't heard their last in full but the track I did hear wasn't good.  Wasn't there some issue with the band wanting to sack Tate's wife who was managing the band (or some aspect of their operation) and that caused the initial rift?

There's so much win on "Empire" it is unreal.  I actually prefer it to "..Mindcrime" (and I like that too).  I came to it before "..Mindcrime" though which has probably helped it, the only track I skip is "Della Brown" otherwise I sing along like a 13 year old at a Beiber concert to every track on there!
