  1. Have a week away next week with work during this time i shall be attempting further unpicking of the amazing "Pleiades Dust" for purpose of review. I haven't decided which format i will buy it in but digital will not do this level of mastery justice.

Meanwhile, i just picked up Grand Magus "Hammer of the North" as it struck me as great driving OR drinking music with its solid riffs and epic idlings. Also just picked up Drudkh "Slavonic Chronicles" which has little presence online in terms of reviews yet seems to be very much the familiar "Blood in our Wells" sound of Drudkh doing 2 covers.

    Qrixkuor - Three Devils Dance

Cool vibe and some very enjoyable riffs, if not breaking the mold established by a number of other OSDM groups. It's almost a Grave Miasma ripoff at times. The murky production here is holding it back and I wish the vocals had more balls.

With you completely on the production, their demo was terrible (but you can forgive a demo) on the production front.  I think I am enjoying it so much because of Grave Miasma to be honest as I tend to play Qrixkuor after "Endless Pilgrimage". On its own probably not as remarkable but doing an established format well enough.  The other forum I frequent knows nothing of Grave Miasma, might write an artist overview for the blog and transpose it over to the forums I frequent.  Wrote "Endless Pilgrimage" review last night on the blog will post it here later.

  3. Tonight will be red chilli pork steaks with rice and maybe salad also.  As I start my new "healthier" regime I have been advised to eat more vegetables than fruit as fruit is full of fructose which plays havoc with blood sugar levels and therefore makes your body more likely to store fat.

  4. Qrixkuor "Three Devils Dance" - stumbled on this by complete accident today on Bandcamp and have played it about 3 times already.  Real Portal, Antediluvian et al churn to their sound like a tide of darkness that ebbs and flows.

Grave Miasma "Endless Pilgrimage" - since "Odori..." finally clicked with me I found myself purchasing all of the GM catalogue and so was stoked to hear this today.  There are some new sounds and a slightly more accessible feel to proceedings but there is still enough murk and deluge in there to drown a city in.

    Neat day.

Thanks man, I'll check it out. That Grave Miasma is fantastic. Different kind of listening though, their melodies are easier to sink your teeth into. Give Plebeian Grandstand another chance when you've got the inclination. On a more black-metally note, you may dig Mortichnia's "Heir To Scoria And Ash".

    Listening to Mortichnia now.

I'm surprised, it's in line with some other things you enjoy. It's a headphones album for me, though, I need to focus on it. Doesn't work as background music.

I am working so that doesn't help it but then again Grave Miasma blew me away earlier when I was working.

Now playing : Qrixkuor "Three Devils Dance" definitely one for you FatherA.

  7. What really fucking annoys me is that most of the idiots I come across in my work life are in charge of multi-million pound budgets made up of public money and in reality they can't be trusted with a pocket full of change in a sweet shop.  "Luk at all d pretti colored fings that taste ov nice!"

  8. Phelbian Grandstand - "False Highs, True Lows"

Not a fan of this to be honest, it just all kind of blurs into one mathematical chaotic splurge to my ears.  I can't catch anything to focus on, there's no foothold for me to start from.  It is almost too brutal for my senses in terms of atonality.

  9. My favourite tipple for the past month or so has been Anchor Californian Lager. So smooth and tasty on the palate still. On abstinence from tomorrow until July when i turn 40. Beer belly is well out of control at present and i am shifting some serious volume each week.

  10. I fucked it up to be honest, flat iron only really works at medium rare but the cuts at our butchers are quite thick so i called wrong on the oven time and it came out well done. Sobbing into my ice cream as i type. Hope you get your Chinese.
