  1. Fair enough! I would have all 5 of their most recent albums in the top 10 of their discography - "The Electric Age" and "Ironbound" are my top 2, respectively, in the entire catalog. I'd have "Taking Over", "The Years of Decay", and "Horrorscope" all in my top 5, though, so I'm with you on those classic albums! And huge props for PanterA! My favorite band of all time, period. We're playing a lot of the same stuff, it seems! Happy listening!
  2. Fantastic choice! Overkill is my favorite thrash band of all time. Killbox 13 really showed signs of them moving back toward a thrash sound (even though the two albums after that didn't necessarily do that) into what we would eventually have the pleasure of hearing - Ironbound in 2010.
  3. Fantastic album. Love atmospheric funeral doom.
  4. Artillery - "When Death Comes" (album)
  5. Yes, I would highly recommend it! That's interesting to hear your thoughts on the self-titled album. I would actually rank it up at #2 in their entire catalog, just behind "Ashes of the Wake". But that's what makes music great! We can all hear things differently and have our own unique perspectives on it. "Omens" is a powerhouse for sure. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts if you do choose to check it out!
  6. Incredibly crushing album that never gets boring! Motorhead - "Kiss of Death" (album)
  7. Amazing album! Destined to be looked upon as a genre classic one day. Manimal - "Armageddon" (album) Highly recommend this one - 2021 release from these bruisers. The Priest vibe is strong.
  8. Welcome, my friend! I wasn't aware of the Germans being stuffy and salty, but that country has produced some incredible heavy metal! Sodom, Destruction, Tankard, Accuser, Helloween, Primal Fear, Accept....man it's crazy just thinking about it. I'm a massive Cradle of Filth fan, myself, so it's great to see them mentioned in your original post!
  9. Fantastic choice! I've been a huge fan of My Dying Bride for several years now. Aaron Stainthorpe is a mastermind. "Songs of Darkness, Words of Light" was the album on which I discovered the band, and I've never looked back! If I had to pick a favorite album, it would probably be "The Dreadful Hours", but there really aren't any albums that I dislike.
  10. Saxon - "Battering Ram" (album)
  11. We can certainly agree to disagree. If an album is strong, I never find myself wishing it was shorter. I want more music for the money always. I love "Peace Sells", and I do wish it was a bit longer. I'm enjoying this most recent one just as much, though. My favorite thrash band is Overkill, and I've never necessarily been a die-hard Megadeth guy, but I like almost all of their catalog as a casual fan. I'd highly recommend checking the new one out if you get the chance! Happy listening!
  12. I'm really digging it so far! "Life in Hell", "Dogs of Chernobyl", and "We'll Be Back" are my early favorites, but I'll be listening to this beast plenty of times more in the coming days. And I've never been one to mind an album being long. The way I see it, I want more music for the money. I'd rather not drop my hard-earned money on an album that's 9 or 10 tracks and only 38-42 minutes long. Give me 12-14 tracks and 55+ minutes any day. This one is 14 songs, and a little over an hour in length, which I think is fantastic. I'd highly recommend it!
  13. Megadeth - "The Sick...The Dying...And the Dead" (album)
  14. KK's Priest - "Sermons of the Sinner" (album)
  15. Crowbar - "Sever the Wicked Hand" (album)
  16. Forbidden - "Forbidden Evil" (album)
  17. Temple Balls - "Pyromide" (album)

    hey

Thrash is some of the best medicine out there! Second best sub-genre next to groove. High energy and ferocious, just the way metal should be.
  19. I'll certainly give it a shot! Overkill will dominate the list, so here it goes: "The Electric Age" - Overkill "Ironbound" - Overkill "White Devil Armory" - Overkill "The Grinding Wheel" - Overkill "The Wings of War" - Overkill "Enter the Grave" - Evile "The Call" - Angelus Apatrida "Formation of Damnation" - Testament "Titans of Creation" - Testament "Fire & Damnation" - Exumer "Hostile Defiance" - Exumer "Combat Cathedral" - Assassin "Rise of Violence" - freaKings "Drunk or Dead" - Alkoholizer "Time is Up" - Havok "The Dream Calls for Blood" - Death Angel "The Evil Divide" - Death Angel "Humanicide" - Death Angel "When Death Comes" - Artillery "Shovel Headed Kill Machine" - Exodus I currently have 1,811 songs on my thrash playlist in my music library, which amounts to more than 133 hours. So I'm not even close to the bottom of the barrel, but I tried to limit it to 20, per request!
  20. That is a crazy first metal show! He had a fantastic introduction! Yes, Crowbar will occasionally pick up the pace, and it really adds some nice variety to the sound. Their tagline throughout the years has been: "none heavier". And I'd have to agree. Less than a month away now - let the countdown begin! What have you been jamming to this weekend? I've been playing nothing but thrash for more than a week now. I went with some Death Angel and Chemicide yesterday, and I've also been playing a lot of Evile lately.
  21. Yes, I can't wait! August 14 is gonna be epic! They're already such a heavy band because of how downtuned their guitars are. But in a live setting, it literally makes your teeth rattle. It's crazy! My favorite album is their 1996 release "Broken Glass", followed closely by their 1998 release "Odd Fellows Rest" and their 2014 release "Symmetry in Black". Out of all 12 albums, I enjoy every single one, though. That's awesome that you're seeing Conjurer! What's your favorite song from their new album? I do enjoy some doom every now and then, so I'll make sure to check out more of their stuff. What's their best album, in your opinion?
  22. Our Raw Heart is awesome! I can't stop listening to it. Fantastic stuff. Yes, I'm afraid I'll have to book a ticket to Sweden to be able to see the mighty Bullet! I just bought my ticket to see Crowbar next month, though. They're one of my top 5 favorite bands of all time, and this will be the second time I've seen them live. Incredibly heavy show! I have all 12 of their albums. If you're not familiar with them, they play a dirty, heavy style of groove-sludge. Awesome stuff!
  23. I have heard some of YOB and really like their stuff! I haven't heard that album, though, so I'll be checking it out shortly. Unfortunately, I've never gotten to see Bullet play live. I live in the States, and I'm not sure how often those guys tour over here. I'm sure they tour all around their home country of Sweden, but if they ever come over to the States, I'll be right there on the front row! Thanks for the heads-up on YOB. I'm getting ready to listen to it now!
