  1. I've never been one for genres, they just get in the way of things, but I can definitely get along with Purple, Floyd, Crimson, Cooper etc. I was never a fan of Ted, not because I didn't like him (or knew what he'd become) more because he just wasn't on my radar. I know plenty of people cite him as a genuine influence but I'm too late to that party and his idiotic ways of the last few decades over shadow anything I could like about the guy. Hendrix is another I never got into. Talent, sure. Great songs, maybe a few, but overall he just did nothing for me.

  10. Ahhh, but is it always a sentence? I think not. Let's Order Red Eggs. HUGE
  11. I'm chuffed that you're sending me a prezzie
  12. Unlike Pantera who should keep going and record albums!! Toxikull - Under The Southern Light
  13. I've tried a number of times and it just doesn't hold anything memorable for me. There's a few reasonable riffs but the lyrics and songs as a whole just aren't something I'd want to go back to like I do the first two albums.
  14. If I was a regular concert goer I think I'd do the same.
  15. I wouldn't have called Exhorder offensive but it's definitely nothing on their first two. I suppose that has something to do with there only being one original member left and he wasn't a main song writer of those first two I believe. I haven't bothered to watch any of their current live shows but I'd be surprised if they had whatever it was they had in the 90's.
  16. That's a tough call, Exhorder is far what they once were but I don't hear anything more redeeming in Verminthrone.
  17. Well here's your chance to kick start the push for more metal in Radelaide. Tom Warrior is bringing Triumph Of Death down in August.
  18. Apocrypth - Down To The Crypt
  19. I was never a fan of DiAnno so I'd dump him before dumping songs. But here's a list no one asked for. IM I would dump Transylvania, Running Free and Remember Tomorrow Killers I'd dump the instrumentals, Prodigal Son and Another Life NOTB I could happily get rid of Gangland, The Prisoner and Run To The Hills (although the film clip for RTTH is fun and a bit goofy). POM I'd dump Still Life, Sun And Steel and To Tame A Land. Powerslave I'd get rid of Losfer Words and The Duelists SWIT I'd dump DejaVu and Heaven Can Wait 7th Son I'd probably keep all. After that it would take some thinking. While I said yesterday that some times the songs I'd take off albums changes depending on my mood at the time those Maiden songs are nearly always songs I skip or tune out when they come on. With songs like Running Free, Run To The Hills and Heaven Can Wait it's a case of over play. They might be well written songs, catchy or someone elses favourite but they are songs I got sick of quickly.
  20. I don't think fillers only exist on old albums or thrash albums, or trad metal albums or even pop albums, I think they exist on every record in every genre. But for me those songs might change over time and a song I thought of as filler once could become a song I don't want to skip. The only bands that I would consider to have written albums that I listen to start to finish all the time, over time, unchanging, are bands that I played with or worked with years ago. It wont be every band and I'm sure it's got more to do with familiarity of hearing the same songs every night for several months than it does how good or bad the album might be. It doesn't make me dislike every new album. it doesn't even make me judge new bands more harshly, its just fact that for me it's easy to sit down and enjoy something familiar than it is to make something else familiar. But to become familiar it's still got to have hooks like decent lyrics, decent music and something that doesn't put me to sleep.
  21. Someone highfalutin would say that. NASCAR metal! Silly in nature. Silly in lyrics. Just silly all round, but it's still a bit of fun too.
  22. I don't think I own too many albums where I would listen to them all the way through every time I listen to them.
