  1. Doesn't Barnes do a shitty voice deliberately just so he can whine and bitch about how bad things in death metal and the music industry really are?
  2. For those not wanting to follow rules you can just assign a 'whatever' to each genre
  3. Oh I love these debates. I'll take "who makes Dewalt tools" for $100! I've never had a use for a recip saw that couldn't be done with a chainsaw, actually most jobs can be done with a chainsaw For that sort of grating just about any saw would work, but hey, buying new toys just for the sake of it is always good too.
  4. Many of my old shirts from the 80's and 90's have gone but I did, for no particular reason, keep a number of tour shirts in wearable condition. I'm not sure why I kept all the tour shirts because I also bought the tour books if I wanted something nostalgic but I kept them and only wore them occasionally. Most have faded a bit but are free from holes and still fit despite being old and fat now.
  5. I don't have a problem with James but Metallica would be so much better, atleast funnier, with both Lars and Mustaine's bruised egos together.
  6. Are you suggesting I handle my cucumber too much? Strangely enough the mention of polaroids is quite apt. Yesterday while I was cleaning up my office I found a bunch of photos from my brothers wedding in 97. One of the photos from the following day my dad and I are cooking the BBQ in front of my Bro's garage, nothing to unusual there but in the picture I was wearing the same Slayer t-shirt that I was wearing only a week ago. Maybe thrash isn't dead but I am! Nah, I'm still on Windows 3.11, no bugs for me! It's actually the forum server refusing connections once it gets to a certain limit. It remedies itself in anything from 10 minutes to an hour as load drops. Moving pretty fast today, that new 28.8k modem is kicking arse!
  7. I can't mock anything at the moment, it takes 14 reloads and 10 minutes to post a single fucking idiotic post.
  8. With only about a dozen bands announced Wacken 2023 sold out (80,000 tickets) in 6 hours. Seems that a lot of fans want festival gigs too.
  9. If only it was a thrash riff, still you can seek medical help for your issues.
  10. I understand nuffink! I question everyfink! I vote for '94. Something I don't understand is that yesterday the OP was LightningRide, he even claimed that was his name (as questioned by GG). Now he's Rexorcist. does that mean that Lingthning Ride has his hey day yesterday and tomorrow we'll all be talking about how his first posts were his best and we wont see such a peak of creativity again?
  11. So 87 is the hey day of thrash now? Wasn't it 91 before, and maybe 92 before that? Tomorrow it will probably be 85.
  12. Y'all are stooooopid. Y'all only look at wots at the end of ya noses Y'all livin' in La La Land.
  13. Fuck you! I was in a heated debate, I got worn out in time for my usual afternoon nap. I woke up and the debate is over because it's not as hot any more. If you can't handle the facts as they stand you need to start making your own up to suit a purpose. Oh that's right, you did!!! And they were singing, Bye Bye, Thrash music has died. It happened in the 90's, I just can not deny All metal fans now praise corpse paint and dye So I'm just gonna fuck off quietly and die! Now it's time for another nap!
  14. Oh shite. I did dun go away for my afternoon nap an' plum forgotted I was in a heated debate about when the music died. Oh well, I'll just assume the other parties were nutjobs and didn't put forward a convincing argument.
  15. Plateaued, peaked, pinnacled, call it whatever you like but for me if I thought there was not something to look forward to then I wouldn't bother looking forward. What if the delusion is that others are simply on a different planet...oh hang on that might not be a delusion The thing is we are in a circular conversation where no one can be right or wrong. There is nothing incorrect with you suggesting thrash peaked 30 odd years ago because for you it did. But to say definitively that all thrash for all people peaked at the same time isn't correct. Putting an exact year on this so called peak also doesn't do much because while it's still entirely correct that for you thrash peaked with X album in X year, a thousand other people could counter with a heap of other albums from year Y or Z. So back to the stubborn old coot bit, I might also be stubborn with technicalities, and opinions, even when shared by multiple people are not always hard and fast facts.
  16. If you truly believe every metal genre has reached it's peak then I feel sorry for you. I feel even more sorry that you feel that way but keep listening to it. Maybe you'll get more satisfaction from Taylor Swift? If one is delusional then the denial they live in does not actually exist.
  17. That's still only a opinion, which is fine, but for many fans it's not true.
  18. It's not a deep insight, it's hardly an insight at all. But for someone to suggest a genre they no longer like had its hey day is barely surprising.
