  1. One of Australia's greatest economic asset is that it's people are essentially financially illiterate morons without any clue on managing their finances and get into debt without much thought (Australians are indebted at 120% of GDP second only to Switzerland (130%) and well above 75% average for OECD). Personally it pisses me off to pay anywhere up to $250 a ticket and then $12 for a drink. Oh and that shit hole Hobart charging average of $226 per night for accommodation. Though it's interesting that everyone I know has stopped going to Hobarts for gigs. Seeing even a no-name band with a $5 cover charge in Hobart is now like a $300+ trip - accommodation average is $226 and fuel is around $100 (especially as most of road is permanently slowed down due to permanent roadworks).
  2. Five Flavoured Fruit Punch literally made me laugh!
  3. Morgoth - Cursed Tiamat - Wildhoney - one of the few prog metal things I enjoy.
  4. Fuck this shit. Sure modern music is entertainment, even metal. But it should still be created as human art and human expression. It's already gone astray with pro-tools etc. AI music just further cheapens it.
  5. That's like any major event here in Tasmania - they are for rich mainlanders, not the locals. Eg when Tom Warrior played in Hobart. Some of these events now charge like $12 a beer! Very often even the big alternative arts events exclude local performers, charge mega dollars for tickets and mega dollars for drinks. In fact for something that's meant to kind of be working class, metal and punk have become exorbitant cash cows and live concerts increasingly out of reach. I am originally from Croatia. My brother lives in Zagreb though I don't think Nile would appeal to him much these days (Rammstein's probably the heaviest he goes).
  6. Megadeth - Countdown To Extinction Pig Destroyer - Head Cage
  7. Does it matter? I can't understand most growled vocals and seldom pay attention to them. Christian lyrics could be interesting if they for example focused on some of the old testament or even stuff like crucifixion of Jebus or Judas hanging himself or just how nasty sinners burn in hell.
  8. Agreed 100%. I had the misfortune of seeing the posers at a festival many years ago (Gone South back in 2001 or 2002). Very dull. The only amusing thing was how the girls in the audience all let off screams and groans of adulation when the singer took his top off. Amebix - Monolith.
  9. Incubus - Beyond the Unknown - the death thrash band now known as Opprobrium, not the shitty nu-rock band. Master - Faith Is In Season Metallica - And Justice For All Slayer - South of Heaven
  10. Given at most large concerts & festivals you need a set of binoculars and a raised platform to see the band anyway.
  11. Goatmaster, some cool finds and info there. Ravencult - Force of Porfanation Sodom - Obsessed By Cruelty
  12. Yet somehow Mortiis is on there despite having nothing to do with metal.
  13. Middle Class - Out of Vogue Arguably first ever hardcore EP - released 1978 .
  14. Another Metal Archives fail - Bodycount is not on it. Sure sometimes they were more punk but their more recent output is often pure crossover!
  15. Serves me right for assuming a goat sex worker's shoe colour.
  16. Goatwhore - Angels Hung From The Arches of Heaven Decent if unremarkable. Band name always makes me think of a goat tarted up in 1980s Sunset Strip hooker attire - miniskirt, fishnets, red high heels, too much bad makeup and a 1980s hairdo. No doubt that mental image has got the goat metallers erect!
  17. Goatwhore - Angels Hung From The Arches Of Heaven Out now on Metal Blade High Command - Eclipse of the Dual Moons Out now on Southern Lord
  18. I would certainly buy Cold Lake. I am actually always surprised some record company hasn't reissued the first several Pantera albums. I would actually buy them!
  19. I would so buy this If I had stupid amounts of money!
  20. High Command - Eclipse of the Dual Moons Thrashtastic!
  21. Dunno, Sodom, Destruction and Testament have all done some great stuff in recent times. In fact Testament just kicked arse on their last one. Megadeth have their moments too though I wish their production was better - too sterile. Also we haven't heard the other songs. Hardwired was like 2 cracking thrash tunes, a couple of ok slower ones and a butt ton of crappy Load rejects. Death Magnetic was better but that production fucked it right up.
  22. None as: A. My wife would not appreciate it! B. Stereo is in the living area, not in the bedroom! C. I listen to CDs and vinyl and am anal. So I would have to pack the CD/vinyl up otherwise I couldn't go to sleep.
  23. I was thinking of going but cost of petrol and accommodation put me off! Road to Hobart is currently a mess with semi-permanent road works so it's a 3 hour journey and even longer at night due to fog and road obstacles (ie roadworks). Makes traveling just for gig hard. Missed Blood Incantation and Dead Congregation for same reason. ------ Is Anthrax kind of dead? Just noticed Charlie Benante is committing a bit more long term to playing with Pantera ie up to 2024! Anthrax keep talking about a new album but it seems just hollow talk as nothing is known. And Charlies isn't just the drummer but also the main song writer!
  24. Nothing a few lines of blow can't fix! 😁
  25. Celtic Frost - Vanity/Nemesis Pantera - Great Southern Trendkill
