  1. GRIMAH - Intricacies of Bowed Wisdom. Good BM ESOGENISI - Esogenisi. Too much guitarism. YEAR OF NO LIGHT - Consolamentum. Disappointing. Bog standard post-rock. Great cover art. FUNERAL CHASM - Omniversal Existence. Nah.
  2. DIRGE - Vanishing Point Such a good name for a band, and a pretty good album too.
  3. It's true that I probably haven't given it enough time to grow on me but I just didn't feel excited by it so I haven't been inclined. I will go again and I may change my mind, but, as ever, so much music so little time.
  4. BLINDFOLDED AND LED TO THE WOODS - Nightmare Withdrawals So there Hungus.😀
  5. Yes to all of that - except I do not fiddle with vinyl at all. A hundred years ago when I was a student in Sydney we were burgled and my LPs were almost all stolen. So my old classics went. I replaced a lot of them (I actually bought many of my own albums back because I knew where stolen vinyl was fenced). I switched to CD as soon as I could but I can barely remember the last time I played a CD and my old turntable probably doesn't even work. Downloads, baby. Bandcamp for almost everything, Presto for classical and jazz that I can't find on Bandcamp.
  6. Yep. Love the band, but Utgard is a bit bland.
  7. Yep, Verklärte Nachte is a lovely piece. Schönbergs orchestral music is not scary at all. The choral music will not appeal to everyone. I like opera though - my wife and I will be seeing Gounoud's Faust at the movies on Sunday... This morning - HORRISONOUS - A Culinary Cacophony, then CREUSCULE - Le Gardien Des Clefs
  8. It about the transistor radio, isn't it?😉
  9. I'll be the first to say welcome. Just about everything metal is here, but you do have to go looking.
  10. And shameless self promotion, but what the hell. I will have a listen after work. Fuck cassettes though.
  11. Earlier GARGANJUA - Through The Void Right now, STEPHAN THELEN - Fractal Guitar 2
  12. No-one you need care about has a Pono player...I would go for the latter though, providing I had the means to junk said Pono player and get something better. But I am not sure I understand this game and if there were only the two choices, then fucking cassettes it would be.
  13. You call that a list? Nah, just having a lend of you. An encyclopaedia of BM. The unworthy can read it and weep.
  14. Earlier - VIOLET COLD - Empire of Love - quite uplifting despite the banjo... Now - BRENDAN BYRNES - 2227 - microtonal instrumentals, light and lovely.
  15. On my run this morning - ORYX - Lamenting A Dead World Right now - GHOST LODE - Terrestrial Bodies Couldn't be more different...
  16. HORRISONOUS - A Culinary Cacophony
  17. Bowie's version of the song is very good but not as good as the original. I too have been chasing the album forever but without any luck. I would even break my rules and go physical if I found it.
  18. Off the top of my head in the mid '70s? Soft Machine, Yes, Brian Eno, Split Enz first album (the only good one)...and Anthony Braxton. Now you're talking. I like Bowie - but he is mainly for listening with the wife - but Scott Walker was just brilliant. What voice!
  19. There must have been some good music in 1976, but the Goatmaster has deliberately avoided listing any. And Aladdin Sane is indeed music for the ages.
  20. JUTE GYTE - Helian Actual songs.
  21. And number five - a baker's four - INDESCINENCE
  22. So, I listened and I get what you mean, but how is this a bad thing?
