Neither you nor I are attempting to change the GG's mind - I just want to needle him a bit - but there are plenty here with different ears and some may appreciate the Arctopussy.. And, by the way all, the version of NNC Summoning I have is the one with the live versions of all the songs after the originals, proving - and it didn't need proving to me - that they ain't playing at random. Beware, you have summoned Thatguy. This happens to be the only album of theirs that I own and I'm listening now. I had forgotten about this album. It is structurally quite conventional and the musicianship is of the highest calibre. Of course the Goat-in-chief would hate this, but give it another go, Ari, you're better than that. 🙃

I've listened to bits and pieces of this guys output and I agree with your take. Too much dungeon synth by far but the guy is clearly talented. Many if not most solo metal artists need a band and this guy really really needs a band.
