  1. I hope you added some garlic to your father before cooking Only mummies are yummy... Thanks!
  2. I still really like his music. I do not find it too predictable personally. I manage to look beyond his guitar tone (although he has improved it in his most recent work).
  3. I have several instruments: - my first bass and Aria IGB50 - Ibanez EDA900. Not happy with the sound of this, so do not really use it anymore... - Aria fretless bass - Fender Jazz bass Aerodyne (Japanese model, with thinner body, and P-bass + J Bass pickups) This was my main bass for several years, and I still play it. - Fender Precision bass 60th anniversary, which I modified: I replaced the neck for a Jazz bass neck (from a Squier I bought, as I prefer the J bass neck profile), I installed a killswitch on the bass, and relic'ed the hell out of it. I put coloured string, and a fluffy strap on it. I look like a douche with it, but I love it. It is my main bass, and sounds great. Voilà! Effect-wise, I use 2 behringer BOD overdrive (cheap, but sound great!), a digitech Synth-wah, a boss chorus, a zoom MS60B, and a whammy pedal (for guitar). Amp wise, I use a Genz-Benz 600W.
  4. I really like Damageplan, but I am a huge Dimebag fan...
  5. ooooohhh... Never heard of them! I like very much, though!!!! Thanks!
  6. I started guitar at 16, and when I move to London, I wanted some low end for my compos. Then when I started looking for a band, there were more "jobs" as bassist... So I started playing in bands as bassist, and never looked back. I now consider myself more as a bassist than a guitarist. I almost do not play guitar at all.
  7. Claypool 100%. There is nothing this dude can do. Amazing sound, amazing player, and so creative soundwise, rhythm wise etc. His contribution to the instrument is mind blowing. Flea is a great bassist, but not as technically good as Claypool. His bass playing is great, and fits great to RHCP. He is definitely one of the guys that makes bass cool. So as usual, it is down to taste...
  8. I think music and comedy mix. As long as it is natural for the band, I do not see a problem... Music is an art... Compare it to painting, some people like to paint sad clowns (why?), and some people paint a white square... Humour is present anywhere. It will attract different crowds... I like humour and funny people.
  9. Devin Townsend for me. His stuff is more approachable than SYL. I have always struggle with his guitar sound (so dense and compressed it makes my ears bleed), but I prefer his solo stuff. Seen him on the "ki" tour, which was great.
  10. I'll write it down for future watching. I have heard of it before, but never watched it. At the moment, I am watching "hand of God" with Ron Pearlman. It is ok. Reminds me a bit of Breaking bad in the atmosphere.
  11. Hi All, my name's Jérôme, 36 years old, metal head (although I listen to a lot of rock / funk / bluegrass etc as well). I am French but have been living in London UK for the last 15 years. Seen great gigs there. I play the guitar and the bass, but consider myself more as a bassist. I play in 2 bands at the moment, a rock band and a heavy rock band. I'll get to post links in the future I am sure. I have a crappy sense of humour, but I do not care. Looking forward to chatting with you guys / girls! :)
