Hm. I'd put RTL or Master Of Puppets with Rotting Christ's Non Serviam or Triarchy, but not really The Gallery. When I was younger I always wanted to hear harsh "dark metal" vocals over Metallica's music.

yep u ozzies have it down, thats 4 sho. Soundgarden's album Badmotorfinger can put me in the mood for Cowboys From Hell or Vulgar - same producer, I think. And depending on how drunk you are, Mayhem and Swans can go really well together.

Leviathan - Massive Conspiracy Against All Life I think I like Howl Mockery better, still ok.

Triptykon - finally getting around to it. Some really cool riffs here. Edit - I have to say I'm really impressed with the more atmospheric forays here. The "clean"-ish stuff, the pianos, the doomy riffs. It all works very well. It's the heavy CF-style riffs that don't really do it for me. The more "metal" moments kind of drag the album down. Not worth some of the glowing reviews that I've read for it, but still a strong and interesting album.

Ulcerate - The Destroyers Of All I'm only a couple of songs in, but I think I really like this. Never heard this band before, though they've been recommended.

Type O for me is one of those unique bands that I get stuck on for a while. Hard to listen to other stuff in a Type O context. But, they take me to Sabbath sometimes, of course, and some other times to Alice In Chains or Portishead depending on my mood.

That sounds promising. I'd be willing to help out - host, provide some music, do write-ups, whatever. I've no idea what logistics are involved. Cool idea, though!
