Does the Mainstream Virus exist in Black Metal??? Easy for the masses...I think it's pretty self-explanatory, but I think you are saying the same thing that we did, just in different words.

Respect what I am about to say, I am just expressing my humble opinion. I believe that this is one of the worst genres in Metal HISTORY!!! The whole Hip-Hop influence wants me to freaking throw up my intestines. I also think that this is the kind of genre that only 15 year olds tend to listen to. It's an absolute Mainstream genre that humiliates the 40+ years of Metal History. You are welcome to express your opinion which I will give my best try to respect, since this is a nu-metal category, which means that nu-metal fans will answer.

I really like this style of music. I don't know many bands. I just know Lifelover, Xasthur, Trist, Thy Light, Burzum, Make a change...Kill yourself. You are welcome to enlighten me with some good bands in this genre.

Dimmu Borgir! I totally agree with you. Dimmu is truly an awful band with awful music. The worst part is that they are really famous. But that's not because they are a good band, but because they are a complete mainstream band. If I'm wrong someone correct me.

Christian Black Metal In my opinion religion provides some kind of spiritual empowerment, to believe that you are being protected and that your prayers will sometime be answered, gives your psychology a boost. Religion as a whole helps you in hard and desperate moments. But as I said, it's spiritual only. The thought that you will overcome your problems by prayer makes you actually overcome them on your own. I acknowledge the power of religion. I just don't accept it.

Christian Black Metal Yep, unfortunately I have listened to this genre. I guess that the majority of people listening to this genre are most likely religious people that embrace Christianity. So it is likely that these people oppose in black,death and thrash metal. Can they call themselves metalheads by rejecting the major genres of extreme metal? As an Atheist and a MetalHead, I really hate this genre, Firstly because they play Black Metal music, with the exact opposite lyrics, which means that they are exploiting a genre with a certain history in the Metal Culture. Secondly they use Black Metal to spread Christian Propaganda. For me, this genre should have never existed!

Anti Black Metal The big picture is if you like the music, afterwards come the lyrics. Anyway there are quite a few Black Metal bands that don't contain Satanic lyrics, like Immortal for example which is a really good Black Metal band. The majority of Black Metal carries satanic themes, but there are other bands that are different. Immortal which I mentioned earlier, have lyrics referring to Norway. That's my opinion on the subject.

Well, judging by the image and music of Dimmu Borgir and Cradle of Filth, I am pretty sure that even Black Metal has got some mainstream titles. If you are aware of more Mainstream "Black Metal" bands please share with me

Doomwave anybody? PFFFFFFF, I feel like a new wave of metal crap is knocking my doorbell!!! No more please...Had enough crap with nu-metal, metalcore, gay metal ,rap metal and symphonic orchestral opera metal. PS: A few of these genres probably don't exist, but I think you got the point.

Suggested bands? Actually, Burzum isn't only black metal, there is some dark ambient themes in his work like "Die Liebe Nerpus" and a few of his songs have depressive metal music like "Spell of Destruction"

Recommended Black Metal bands? Well, since most bands are already mentioned I could add up Xasthur, Lifelover, Thy Light, Trist ... Caution!!!Really depressive atmosphere!!!
