  1. Thanks for the feedback on Sanguisugabogg. For me it is a miracle that Century Media signed this band. Also I think it is more the gimmick behind it that made them to be signed. For the music is average at the most. There are plenty better releases this year.

i have not seen these but family members such as my brother really like borgen and the bridge. not seen it yet.   rebus is a good one based in Scotland. thats loosely based on popular novels by ian rankin. not seen it in a while but enjoyed it. as i remember he is the rough talking heavy drinking  detective who gets the criminals. 👍

which is your favourite of programs you mentioned and why?

I think The Bridge was the best. The Swedish detective suffering from a mental disorder like Asperger or some other autism spectrum type is played very well. I was a bit afraid this would disturb me too much but in the end it didn't. Further good story lines.

  3. Ildaruni is a nice release - Murg I too got from Goatmaster as being essential listening.

Now starting the Dark Funeral discog with first the EP from 1994 and now listening The Secrets of the Black Arts.

All for the first time, like I still have to listen to all their releases. I have been missing out on some great music over the past..... Damn....

I've been meaning to get back to this, was looking forward to it until my listening time got torpedoed over the past couple weeks. Did you get into "The Swerve"?

I know how easy scheduled listens get flooded by a tsunami of new releases that needs listening to as well. Which happened to The Swerve. I have the cd in my collection and have not listened to it long time. I did today again and I really think it is an awesome album. These 2x albums will be frequently listened to coming weeks.

  5. Still listening metal even though my dad once told me that I would grow over 'it' when I become an adult. I was 16 at the time. I am either super stubborn not wanting to give in to him even while passed the age of 50 or I never grew up. Possibly a combination of both is true.

I relate a lot to what @GoatmasterGeneralsaid. Including the Simon and Garfunkel comment... but also the divorce tapes. I have them too.  I am having plenty memories when I listen to older music.

  6. Just wanted to share my experience with a set of headphones, closed can, in the price range over 500 USD. I have the B&W P9 now after I owned a B&W P5 (< 500 USD). Both are really excellent headphones. Sound is truly amazing, for sure if you listen through the Onkyo DP-x1A and probably any other DAP. There is so much depth in the sound, it's really great to hear all the nuances in the music. Last is the amazing comfort that this set has. I can have them on for hours without getting annoyed or having sore ear shells.

Otherwise, there are so many quality headphones you actually should go to the shop with a set of music of various sounds, lo-fi BM, some death metal (Sulphur Aeon is good for testing!) and some thrash or so. You probably know that already but for me it was an eye opener how many headphones I didn't like until I heard the B&W.

  7. I am in the process to become a trve goat music lover. Having a long way to go still. I have been more of a death metal addict over all the previous years. So who am I to recommend any black metal? Well I give it a try and recommend latest Wesenwille. I thoroughly enjoy II: A Material God. And not because they are also Dutch...

And I also like latest Abigor as well!

  8. ^^^^ Pretty amazing you find still time listening to oldies! I should do that a lot more. Meaning I have still plenty to listen still from 2020 and older.... Latest ND is indeed very good. Different.

This is pretty good - with lots of riffs and solo's and so.

    Stortregn - Impermanence

What to say about music? I don’t know what to say. I never know what to say.

Sometimes there isn't much to say. I find it very hard as well to say exactly why I like certain music and others I dont.

Slam definitely has my interest and Abominable Putridity is among my favourites. This also was very good release:

Has anyone got any death/doom recommendations? I've recently discovered Konvent and love them, anything like that would be awesome!

I am not the biggest doom fan, but some rec's I do like:

    Mortiferum

    Void Rot

    Temple of Void

    Asphyx

    Heretical Sect

There's plenty more but from top of my mind these are pretty ok.
