I am a huge Rock and Metal fan. I spend a lot of time searching the internet for something metal/rock-related, whether it be something factual I want to know, or something opinionative I want to see how others think. A lot of time I end up on forums, obviously. I'm really not that big into computers and technology- (I know alot about computers and how to use them, but this next part is what I mean)- I've never been a part of any social networks, but I decided to give a forum a try- I am very different then most of my peers and don't have many friends so I finally decided that I should try joining a forum, so that not only can I make friends, I can make metal-friends. So I searched google for "Metal forum" and looked through the first two pages. Eventually, after narrowing it down to two, I decided I like this one the most after looking over topics and activity. So here I am, as you can see this is my introduction.
A bit about my music-side now. I really like most anything in the whole rock-metal spectrum. I enjoy the classics; ACϟDC, Kiss, and Van Halen. And then there's my Metal Side; I listen to almost anything metal. I listen to Classic Metal like Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, and Judas Priest. Then theres my extreme side, with Thrash; Sodom, Tankard, Testament. Death; Deicide, Vader, Sacrificium. I am a fan of Power Metal too, I really like Iron Savior and many more. I have just recently began experimenting with Black Metal. In the past I always heard the low quality Black Metal which discouraged me from listening to the genre. Just a few days ago I decided to give it another try. I ended up listening to Dimmu Borgir, Behemoth, Satyricon and Immortal. I must say, the Black Metal that actually has good quality is very good. I will be listening to more in the near future.
Apart from Metal, I said I like rock. Well, I also really like "soft" music. Slow ballad types songs, though the song doesn't necessarily have to be a ballad. I guess you could actually say I'm just a fan of instruments. There are so many soft songs that have a beautiful guitar section. A lot of times I notice that these softer songs are actually harder than I thought to play on guitar. Neal Schon from Journey literally shreds sometimes (Still They Ride solo),
but stays soft amazingly. Don't get me wrong though, I still enjoy hearing someone aggressively shred their guitar.
So as I said earlier, I enjoy hearing instruments, I enjoy symphonic type music. Bach, Mozart, and Vivaldi to name a few. What I really like is Folk/Celtic style music though, I really like the sound of a well played flute or hurdy-gurdy; instruments not commonly associated with rock or metal.
As you can see I am new here, I don't know if this is longer than what the administrator wanted, my apologies if it is. This is just a little about me. If there's anything you want to know that I didn't address just post a reply or message me. I will try to answer whatever I can, I don't know how active this forum, or even this section is, so I don't know how much traffic will come to this thread, but I will answer what I can.
