  1. Its not a hard process, and components are always cheaper than replacing whole instruments.

Even if you screw up somewhere, you can just rip out the wiring and start over again.

I may be wrong though, seeing as I have friends that have been doing this stuff since they were 15 years old, and would replace a jack or install a new pickup for me for a case of beer.

  2. Looks like the Les Paul just died. Was having a little muck around in the drop D tuning again and mid-note the sound went. Thought it could have been the lead or my amp so switched in the Razorback to check. No problem with the amp, probably not the lead or I'd have the same problem I imagine anyway. Oh and the plug for a lead to go in kind of disintegrated as I was removing the lead as well. I expect it would cost at least as much to repair the guitar as it would to snare a new one and I do want a second 25 1/2 scale guitar so perhaps I'll head down that path now.

How much to a jack, pickups, electrical wiring and a soldering iron cost in Australia?

  3. That's the thing isn't it Gorbo. Imagine the sense of pride playwrights like Shakespeare, composers like Mozart, or artists like Rembrandt would feel knowing how millions revere their work to this day.

Anyway on my mind is the kind of creepy stuff that's been happening the last hour or so. Got an unshakeable feeling of being watched intently by something but turn the lights on and nothing's here. Throw in my room being absolute freezing despite the heater being on for hours and the weird urge I'm getting to just burst into tears and I'm just slightly spooked. I'm trying to come up with some logical explanation but not having much luck.

The concoction I slipped into your Fosters is beginning to take effect........
