welcome Olden Axe, please enjoy this wreath I stole from the google box for you.
I hope you have fun here.

Too bad about the voice thing, as "Yellow Raven" and "Life's Like a River" by the Scorpions are both very meaningful to me. But alas the dude's voice is high pitched and arguably screechy. Still though these are two really classic Metal Ballads, perhaps you will check them out if you're not familiar with them.

I set up my drum kit today, also played the bass at a local open jam. Onward and upward.

Haven't been here in quite a while, been dealing with my depression/dysthymia. Went through ECT (electro-convulsive therapy) only to find that it did not help me. No treatment has helped me so far. I'm now trying a new med that's supposed to help people who haven't had results with other treatments. I really hope it helps because I'm at the end of my rope here.
Hey Parker, I'm very glad to see you here. I hope all the best for you. And stick around, and let us be of service to you.

Warrant was good, yeah. I just like the overblown bravado of the genre. As for Poison, maybe you absolutely right about them, but they really mastered the art of flitting about on stage like a bunch of song birds with billowy scarves and bandannas, you have to give them credit for that at any rate. A year or so I was in deep looking at all kinds of sleaze rock, it's amazing how much of that stuff was made.
Dude is wearing a Poison t-shirt, what a douchebag! I just totally lost respect for these sellouts!

I'll be 47 next month.

So too bad with the Thrash Boozer, he was pretty invested, and that last rant was a substantial if not substantive post.
Went to a nice community potluck and wrote some postcards to my Senator. That is Susan Collins, a republican, who is supposedly some sort of moderate and a bridge. We'll just see about that. Also cleaned guns, not at the postcard writing party in case you were wondering, that was a hippy potluck and there were not a lot of guns in evidence.
The climate denying is a trip. Amazing we need to take time with that. I never want to purchase a gas burning car again. How are we going to get it together to move past creating plastic, if we can't even stop burning fossil fuel for energy? It blows my mind to think about all the plastic, I mean every day most of what I eat was surrounded by it more than once. It's going to be a thousand years before we even start to come to grips with what we have done to the planet, I meant before we'll even be able to access the damage, and the word has been out since the mid 70's at least.

Welcome, once I thought I had a CD of a Spanish metal band. The are called Ankla, and the album was called Steep Trails, and I liked it, but it turns out they are american. Oh well. Perhaps you could name some Spanish bands you like.

I, alas, have no cave, but my one band does have gig in May at the Jamaica Plain "Wake Up the Earth" festival, so that is pretty exciting for me. Yes, it is some kind of hippy shit going on there, I'm sure of it, but we will be on the punk rock stage (not sure that is an official designation, or just what my brother calls it).

I like 80's hair metal more and more all the time, and really enjoy watching their music video. Ratt is one of my favorites.

Have you heard Visage - Fade to Grey, Gorbo? That's an awesome 80s synth track.
I plan to play something from that album which I happen to own for whatever reason. I didn't know what it was when I got it, in a box of albums no doubt. I'm not as with it in the 80's pop arena as I may come off, I'm just getting lucky is all.

Welcome Slow Dragon, I hope you like it here.

I'm going through records putting together a set of 80's synth pop for this record store I've mentioned a bunch. I have some nice 80's stuff and look forward to it. this will be my third time spinning records there. Makes me feel a little glamorous.

I got this archaic table top digital recording studio thing Made by Roland in the late 90's that uses a virtually dated drive, zip drive, anyway the drive seems to be dead, and the dream.. well it's not dead,
Ok this stupid post is pointless, it's a box my friend spent $5- on , but I don't have a good way to record, that's all, and I think that trying to record would improve my skills, so let me phrase this as a question. What is an easy way to record some stuff. You know I have a four track that works OK, I just need to set up my drum kit and learn something rudimentary
It is time to get over the apprehension that I'm not skilled enough to get started, I have all the things I need to sketch out some songs or whatever, I'm not looking to make a finished product straight out of the gate, what I need to do is get more broadly in tune with what a song or some-such needs.
And apparently ladies and gentlemen, that is what is on my mind.
That and my youngest daughter has renamed herself with a boys name and wants to go by the gender neutral, albeit plural pronouns they, them, theirs and such, so that is on my mind a little as well. Non-binary gender identification seems to be specifically what is up there. So yeah, also on my mind a bit, and I think it's for real. The kid is turning 14 in just a few days. I'd like to lay thing on the internet, and the endocrine disrupting qualities of the shampoo and the fucking Bovine Growth Hormone in the cheese we eat, but that seems a little facile.

Not "The" I think, but "This"...
This power is mine; It's mine alone.
That is what I hear.
