Hmm let's see, I don't think I have but one to reference. I mean "Moving Pictures" is up there definitely but also I could put the first two Led Zepp records up there too. If we are moving completely away from metal/rock then Prodigy's "Music For The Jilted Generation" gets regular plays, Miles Davis "Kind Of Blue" and Ornette Coleman "The Shape Of Jazz To Come" are massive for me. Ice T's "Original Gangster" is my all time favourite gangster rap album. Classical music? Holst's The Planets most definitely.
I didn't think you were that fond of Led Zeppelin to be honest.
Ornette Coleman's The Shape of Jazz to Come is a great album and so is Kind of Blue. I prefer Bitches Brew above Kind of Blue, but ol' Miles didn't make a lot of bad stuff anyway, so yeah...

The last couple of days have been great.
Last week I was able to find time to do the things I used to enjoy most, such as playing chess, visiting my old team's handball match, reading, etc. In the process I bumped into a lot of people I hadn't seen for a long time and although some of the conversations were a bit stiff, I can't deny it did feel good to catch up with old friends:
The kid who taught me how to play chess conquered the 10th place on the Belgian championship this year. He's extremely talented and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for him. Who knows where we will see him in a few years...
My former handball team won with 26-21. The game itself was bloody awful to behold, but at least we won. I hadn't seen a game since I quit about 2 years ago because I simply couldn't be bothered really, but I'm glad I went when I look at it now.A local instrument repairer has also decided to accept me as his apprentice. This means I now have the unique opportunity to learn how to repair woodwinds (especially saxophones). December will bring my first evaluation, so let's hope for the best.
This weekend the biggest flea market in Flanders returns to my city as well. It's an annual event I try to visit each year. I'm looking forward to it as always. The only bummer this year is the fact that I moved. I now live right in front of the tent which will be host to a dozen of Dutch schlager artists who shall relentlessly shout their jolly songs until the hand hits the early hours... -
When I'm playing, I prefer to be totally sober ... A beer or two at the most is ok, but I find that it interferes with my focus.
Second.
I allow myself to drink perhaps one beer, but can't be permitted to feel any effects caused by the alcohol since my notes (arco) are at risk of sounding unstable. It's a pity, since (playing) music is usually a blast under influence.

Cool idea. Some from the top of my head are:
Necrophobic - The Nocturnal Silence
Agalloch - Pale Folklore
Funebre - Children of the Scorn
Dissection - The Somberlain
Pan.Thy.Monium - Dawn of Dreams
Forgotten Silence - The Nameless Forever - the Last Remembrance

Good luck in your new home!
Thanks! Based on what you said earlier I think you know how relieving it feels when the moving is over

Due to moving to my new house, the last couple of days have been quite hectic. Now however, everything apart from some minor issues has been sorted out and I can finally catch my breath.
On another note, I'm picking up my new bow on Friday and my rosin could arrive in the mail any day now. It's taken too long for my gear to be complete, but I'm almost there now...

Trying to remember if it was you that commented on how boring Element were when I posted one of their tracks in the RTSAY thread. If it was Kronos is not likely to be that appealling.
I just looked up Element and I do believe having seen the cover of Aeons Past in that thread. Ah well...
-
Incantation - Onward To Golgotha
Kronos - Colossal Titan Strife
Nile - Annihilation Of The Wicked
Heavy stuff.
I have yet to hear anything Kronos made, so I'll have to check that out. -
The last week or so has been pretty stressful. A lot's moved to my new house already, but there is still a lot to do.
Holy shit, Tapatalk finally pulled its head out of its ass and allowed me to log in on this forum. Other forums were no problem, just this one. Anyway, what all have I missed? Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
Welcome back, BAN!

Funebre - Children of the Scorn
Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath
Clock DVA - Thirst -
I've strayed from Scandinavian BM a long time ago and I now prefer bands that introduce new ideas or a fresher sound. The shoegaze hype isn't my thing either, but Ingrain did a pretty nice job if you ask me.
-
Garden of Shadows - Oracle of Moon.
Look at that, melodeath that doesn't suck! This is now amongest Arch Enemy's Stigmata and AtG's debut as one of my favorite melodic death metal albums.
Blood of the Black Owl - s/t
How is that one? I had planned on listening to these guys a long time ago, but for some reason I never did...
-
Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath
Lluvia "Premonicion De Guerra"
This isn't the first time you're mentioned Lluvia IIRC. Are they any good?
-
The Damned - Phantasmagoria
Pink Floyd - Atom Heart Mother
Neurosis - Souls at Zero -
I'd love a new Ahab record to drop soon.
You mean like the one that dropped last week?
