  1. Yeah, I've heard of them. I just haven't heard their dive bombs yet. Could you post a youtube link?
  2. Just like my earlier thread "Noiseless" in again branching out in the sound territory. The million dollar question this time is: How does listening to metal affect and alter your general relationship to your neighbours? Like do you take cauction not to be too loud or just say "fuck em' and blast away? Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to bash metalheads, I'm just curious. In my case I currently live in an apartment with thick, good walls that block most noises (banging, music etc.) and I listen most of the time in headphones so it doesn't matter. How do you do?
  3. Hey, Dive bombs or not? Personally I hate floyd rose, it's a bitch to tune and frankly just an annoyance. I mean sure, it's fun to whammy the shit out of your shredding session (and still stay in tune) but I honestly haven't heard a lot of metal bands that do that except say, slayer. Personally I think it's a bit of a fad (just like 7+8 string guitars), manufacturers think it sells like crazy, thus making almost all guitars specifically made for metal have one. Any thoughts? Keep it metal /m/!!!
  4. Basically, what do you listen to when you don't listen to metal?
  5. The best idea is probably to save up a lot and look for a vintage bc rich custom shop on ebay at a good quality.
  6. While I don't have any real proof of that says yes or no, I would higly doubt it. BC Rich's headquarters are in kentucky thus it would make most sense that they're made somewhere in kentucky. But as I've noticed that the "Handcrafted" Custom Shop part of bc rich's website is gone entirely without any explanation. This means to me that most likely that bc rich's american custom shop have been shut down entirely.
  7. Slash once played the Mockingbird
  8. Yeah, but you can't find any links anymore on bc rich's website. I remember there used to be a section called "handcrafted" but it's gone. The only chance of getting one today is probably ebay. Kind of like when Gibson stopped making dobros and banjos.

    BC Rich

Hey, Looking at different axes and I've noticed that bc rich seems to be the least popular metal brand. Is bc rich of any good quality? I know that kerry king plays em' and that's cool but can anyone with a bit of experience tell me about them?
  10. Hey, Thought I'd take a minute to introduce myself since I never bothered to before. I'm born in 1996 and grew up in Stockholm. I can't say exactly when I started to get into metal, but it's sometime in the most recent years. My alltime favorite "metal" band is anal cunt. Seth Puntnam is awesome (R.I.P.). What I like about metal is it's like my form of ambient music, it clears my head of negative thoughts. Generally speaking I like almost every genre known to man except opera and dubstep. I can't really say stuff like "Oh yeah, I listen to band x and album y and z are awesome". I'm more song oriented. My favorite metal song is probably "Orion" by metallica, it's like Beethoven on metal guitar. Other metal songs I rank highly are Planet Caravan by black sabbath and before I forget by Slipknot. I play guitar (mostly basic chord progression, barre chords and the occasional solo). I'm looking for a good metal guitar at the moment, but being totally broke limit's that. 10 things you didn't know about me: 1. I was baptized 2. I hate licorice 3. Gretsch is awesome 4. I lived in america a few years ago 5. I hate windows 8 6. I like obama 7. I love talking about guitars 8. I don't mind eating insects (not in the wild, from quality and safety qualified stores) 9. I wish everyone spoke english 10. I did orienteering when I was younger. Cheers 9.
  11. Hey, As I venture farther into the world on heavy metal I hear more and more about "poser bands". The million dollar question is, when exactly did the concept of fake, overrated, pop shit metal bands come into place. While I'm pretty sure I myself would rate most of the "posers" as talentless hacks, I want to know, about what year did this come into place. While I'm certainly no metal expert or anything, I'm pretty sure that nobody ever talked about "posers" in the heyday of metal with black sabbath in the 70's and further on in the 80's with metallica, slayer, megadeth etc. I would imagine that around the early or late 90's as metal branched out into a sea of subgenres (grindcore, melodic death metal, metalcore etc) a bunch of "metal boy bands" if you will, formed and got quite popular. Many seem to think of i.e. asking alexandria as the "Justin Beiber of metal". Any thoughts on this? Sorry for long post, had to get that out of my system.
  12. Hey, Let's have a little contest. Name the what you think is the worst possible choice for a metal guitar(s). I'll start: 1. Epiphone Casino, hollowbody bound to feedback, no access to the higher frets and the pickups are single coil. 2. Fender strat, tremolo arm detunes the guitar, all the pickups are again single coil and there's a constant buzz coming from the speaker. 3. Any 12 string electric guitar, it's harder to play rhythm and a real bitch to tune.
  13. Yeah really interesting! Keep em' coming
  14. Hey, I'm curious about how metalheads listening to metal affect their relation to "noise"? What I mean by that is: How does more or less constantly listening to a genre of music that's centered in being loud affect your reaction to other loud sounds. Do things like screaming babies, construction sites, music in stores and barking dogs bother or annoy you? No I don't mean to talk shit about metal I'm just curious since I don't have any metalhead friends to ask or talk to at the moment. So I turn to you. Peace out,
  15. Hey, I find that most of you seems to dislike metalcore. No problem there but exactly who invented metalcore. I listened to a sample of a asking alexandria song and I can confirm that it really sucked. But again who invented it?
  16. As I'm still a newbie I can't say I've listened to enough black/death metal to properly tell them apart. Just finished listening to Suicide Silence, the cleansning, love the drum sound but it's a little thin.
  17. Hello, I was wondering does anybody know what a good guitar for death metal is?
  18. Angel of death is awesome
  19. What is the best guitar for black metal? Suggestions, thoughts etc.?
  20. learn to spell before you start dissing something
  21. Jim root telecaster, jackson dinky usa without floyd-rose (I'm not really a whammy bar guy) and a custom one. Alder, 24 frets, 6 string, strat body, all black and no whammy bar, jackson headshape.
  22. Does anyone know any metal bands that are like 90 percent instrumental? I want to just listen to sweet riffing without bothering about vocals or lyrics
  23. KIrk Hammett, tony iommi and angus young
