  1. Yeah, I love me some of the Ram! No, but I have heard 'of' it and keep meaning to check it out. May do so once this has finished. Really don't like interrupting my albums.
  2. Just finished The Rotted- Ad Nauseam: wicked album! Now on to Rammstein- Mutter... MEIN HERZ BRENNT
  3. Watain- Casus Luciferi Feels like my 1st proper extreme metal album in ages!!
  4. Coheed & Cambria- Ascension. Again. I fucking love this band! It's like being wrapped in a warm cozy blanket!
  5. Sunny Day Real Estate- Diary Gone from Meshuggah to Bjork to this, all in a day's work!
  6. Dude, The Downward Spiral is an incredible album! Stick at it. It rewards patience!
  7. Placebo- Meds True Black fucking Metal!!
  8. Nutshell- Alice in Chains Alternatively, anything from Alice in Chains' Unplugged album!
  9. Aww, that's nice! I have a little black and white moggie called Ozzy (pretty metal name, right?). He's a rescue, too I think. Spends most of his time terrorising the dog, haha!
  10. Hey, nice to meet you! That kitty is so cute!
  11. Crossfaith- Apocalyze Like the sound of Japanese Dance/Rave-influenced Metalcore? Of course you do! Go check this album out!
  12. Yeah, and the soundscapes. The intro to 'Knife Prty' sends shivers up my spine every time! I honestly love everything they've ever done. Sure, there was a dip in quality with the self-titled and SNW, but it wasn't the huge dip people make it out to be. White Poney is my fave of theirs, but the last 2 aren't far behind. I love the contrast between Chino's really soothing voice and the heavy Meshuggah-inspired riffs laid down by Stephen Carpenter particularly in their later stuff!
  13. Deftones- White Pony Definitely one of my all-time favourite albums.
  14. At The Drive-In- Relationship of Command
  15. Heart Of A Coward- Severance Digging this. Real groovy hardcore with huge 'djenty' riffs! I detect a few sweet Deftones-inspired melodies here and there as well.
  16. From my itunes: 1. Katatonia- Leech 2. Chimaira- Stoma 3. Slayer- Threshold 4. 36 Crazyfists- Waiting On A War 5. Rob Zombie- Let It All Bleed Out 6. Black Sabbath- Methademic 7. Gojira- A Sight To Behold 8. Lamb of God- Guilty 9. Hatebreed- No Halos For The Heartless 10. 36 Crazyfists- Trenches Not bad- some solid ass-kicking tracks there. Wouldn't have minded some more diversity, though. 6/10.
  17. Well, that's how I've felt about the power metal I've heard. I've heard Helloween and Dragonforce. When I was studying French I wanted to find some good French metal (already being into some French hip hop/rap) so went to the 'French metal' radio on last.fm and it was mostly power metal on there. It was fucking awful! So, all these experiences have turned me off from the genre. Might give a few of the bands you mentioned a chance, though I'm not expecting to like them much. Still, keep an open mind and all that...
  18. Far- Water & Solutions Post-hardcore/emo before it sucked.
