Just got a new Guinea Pig. That makes three. Oreo, Cecil, and now little Oliver.
(Guinea Pigs are metal, right?)

I'm not so sure that this is a metal problem that you encountered, rather than a facebook problem. That site is toxic. People go on there just looking to get on a soap box and put others down. I closed my account there long ago and would rather claw out my eyes than go back.

Unless you're being sarcastic and I can't pick it up, I see you're unfamiliar with hot fudge sauce on vanilla ice-cream and the great Kentucky band Panopticon.
I think he meant "hot sauce" as in spicy, like Tabasco.

Sibelius huh? I have heard of him, don't know if heard any of his symphonies though, will check them out!
I greatly enjoy Sibelius. For symphonies, my favv is #4. A great shorter piece is Finlandia.

Danzig - Sings Elvis
There's nothing wrong with this, but I just don't see why it needs to exist.

If the old artwork is still intact and they have that much sentimental value, could you cut out the art and sew or mount it to something so you could hang it up? I'm still hoping to do that with a couple of mine that are past wearing.
I considered this, but, in truth, the holes are so large and plentiful, and the artwork so faded, that it just isn't practical.

So, my wife (for some mysterious reason) wants to throw out my old metal shirts that happen to have a lot of (really big) holes in them. I naturally disagreed with this. The compromise is that she has agreed to periodically buy me replacement shirts, and when she places the order I have to throw away the old one. That part was hard.
I decided to start with the first metal shirt I ever bought: Emperor - In The Nightside Eclipse. I purchased the original shirt back in 1998 or so. The new one arrived today and it's beautiful. Classic artwork from a classic album, large and unfaded in all its intricate glory. I notice that the guys in the lower left corner (trolls? soldiers? orcs?) are tinted a little different than the original and really stand out. I am thoroughly pleased with this purchase.

All Monsters - s/t @Parker might dig this. Melancholy "sad rock"/goth rock music with lo fi production and some pretty fierce black metal vocals.
Apollo Ra - Ra Pariah
Thanks for the recomendation. I checked them out. Very odd. Not sure if I dig them or not.
NP: Satan - Court in the Act

I really like The Cure song... but I really don't like this version ?
Thanks for posting nonetheless, I was definitely interested to give it a listen.I love The Cure, but never liked that song, and as I've never been big on Behemoth, I guess I'll skip that one. Too bad, does anyone else know any other metal versions of Cure songs?
Anyway, lately been listening to:
Doom - Bury The Debt Not The Dead
Darkthrone - Plaguewielder
Morgion - Among Majestic Ruin

Why COF are hated: When the band first came out, they were marketed as black metal. I don't know if the members of the band said they were BM, or if it was just marketing. So basically, BM was starting to get big in the 90's with bands like Mayhem, Immortal, Darkthrone, etc., and suddenly every 6th grader is wearing a COF shirt and saying they love BM, without even knowing what real BM is. As I said, I don't know if the band is responsible for this or not, but they caught a hell of a lot of resentment for it.
As for the music, I liked the debut, the Dark Fairytales E.P., and Dusk. I felt Cruelty was a step down in quality, with the songs more simplistic and same sounding. I found these traits magnified on Midian, and stopped listening. Is there any album I should check out that sounds more like the earlier material?

Autopsy - Severed Survival
Michael Nyman - Drowning By Numbers
Enslaved - Frost

I can see caring about age to the extent of wanting to work with adults. Other than that, taking age or gender into consideration is goofy as far as it has no bearing on an individual's talent. In fact, these requirements don't seem much different to me than insisting on only working with people of a certain race.

Burzum - Thulêan Mysteries
Samhain - November-Coming-Fire
Guns n Roses - Use Your Illusion I
I guess I'm all over the place today.

For some reason, I really like the sound of Meniscus.

Danzig - 5 Blackacidevil
The Beatles - White Album
Mesarthim - Isolate

One of the most depressing songs I've ever heard is Asleep by The Smiths. One time I listened to it over and over for a few hours, then had to go to a mental hospital. Then again, my mental state probably wasn't so good when I put the song on to begin with.

They were one of my favorite bands in high school. I love The Real Thing and Angel Dust. The albums that came after had some great songs, but were less consistent albums. I haven't heard the new one yet, but I suppose it's worth a listen.

Hey man, that's awesome news about your wife, I'm happy to hear it. Best wishes to you both. And yeah, thankfully we're just moving across town, my son can even stay in the same school. Trying to allow myself to feel hopeful about it!
Thanks, but the doctor said today that she has to stay another week. Ultimately, I can't fault the doctor for being overcautious, so it's probably a good thing, but I miss her.
FA, congrats on finding a better place in the same town. Great that your kid can stay at the same school.

I'm excited. Within the past week or so, we've bought a second car and found a bigger apartment in a quieter neighborhood. Lots of work to be done, but things might actually be looking up.
Are you still going to be in the same town?
In other news, my wife is doing much better and should be out of the hospital soon. I miss her.

Solid Type O song, 7/10.

I agree with FA. I guess it's kinda like judging a book by it's cover, but you kinda can't help it. I have never listened to the group Soil Work, because I think it's a stupid name; it makes me think of farming, which doesn't seem very metal to me. However, if some one recommended them to me, and their description of the music sounded like something I'd dig, I'd check them out.

He is intelligent, and gives good interviews, but I haven't really liked any of his music since the first album. That first album wasn't a great album, but it was a fun album.

Welcome! I noticed you like Månegarm; I really like their album Dödsfärd, but haven't really checked out the rest of their catalog. What would you recommend I listen to next?
Oh and, you might want to check out the band Skyforger, who are a pagan/folk/black metal band. I really like their song Latviešu Strēlnieki (Latvian Riflemen).

Hey, how's it going? I hate social media, and this forum is the only social media I use. Can you tell us about what metal you are into? Like, what are some of your preferred genres, favorite bands or albums?
Hey there, fellow metalheads!
