I think it is more the internet forum thing in general than just MF. The other forum I frequent regularly is slightly more active but is full of Polls and VS threads to the point were are now asking the mods to create a sub forum for them as they are hardly constructive to debate. I joined one recently and it looks like even though it is new it is going the same way as more established ones.
