Re: Who is the best out of the big 4 ??? Didn't go to Soundwave that year godammit! Oh well at least Machine Head were awesome for this year's festival... As for Metallica, well hard to argue with you there. I still love the black album (I've heard some metal-head describe it as a "guilty pleasure" )and Death Magnetic though.

Re: METALLICA vs megadeth Yeah well the way Lars and James handled the whole firing process you can kind of understand it (not that Dave didn't have it coming). What I didn't consider until reading's Dave's book- sure they handed him a bus ticket but that's a 4 day trip from New York back to LA without a cent on him.

Re: Anti Black Metal And Jeff does the war/ Nazi stuff? They've covered a broad range of subjects over the years but yeah, for the most part every Slayer album must have (by law) at least one serial killer song and one denouncing religion in general.

She's been known to complain about not being taken seriously as an "artist" and being only seen as a sex symbol (all the while showing her perfectly toned abs). But good on her for doing her own thing and not being just another Amy Lee!

Re: Yet another aussie enters the fray... Their first album D.E.S.T.I.T.U.T.I.O.N. is an absolute cracker. The second one (Skinman) not so much (and after that they broke up). Saw them support Slayer back in '95 (I think) and they fucking killed!!

I saw Arch Enemy years ago and yeah, very weird to hear cookie monster vocals coming out of this amazon-looking chick!

And just to go back to old skool (again) do you remember Allegience (from Perth I believe) back in the 90's (probably not since you were only 5 at the time they first came out)

The thing is I don't want to be some old skool dinosaur raving on about how great thrash was "back in the day" and I'd love nothing more than some young whipper-snappers to come along and take the place of the Big 4 but sadly, it's not to be.. Was not aware of "advanced thrash" so will get back to you on that one. And I thought Death were the originators of the entire death metal genre (but it's now classed as tech-death)?
