  1. Onslaught - The Force (1986) Death - Human (1991) Judas Priest - Painkiller (1990)
  2. I liked Elements of Anger and I'm just discovering the other albums. I doubt Sadus will return to wild things like Swallowed or Illusions, just as I can't imagine Dark Angel doing Darkness Descends again.
  3. What is your favourite song of the band? The one I've loved most of all for years is Chemical Warfare, especially on the live Decade of Aggression. Played at the very end of the show, you can feel Dave Lombardo letting loose on this track, especially on the break. He has so much energy! I had the chance to see them on stage playing Chemical Warfare and then Ghost of War. An unforgettable magical moment!
  4. Since last week, the band Sadus has been posting a countdown on their Facebook page and we are now 2 days away from the... From what? A single to be released on November 18th called It's the Sickness. Is it a track from a forthcoming EP? From an album? In 2020, the band was supposed to record a new album and had suddenly stopped everything. I hope this is the album!
  5. Pestilence - Consuming Impulse (1989)
  6. Watchtower - Control and Resistance (1989) When it comes to technical Thrash Metal, I much prefer Mekong Delta to Watchtower. But I love the Concepts of Math: Book One EP and Ron Jarzombek's guitar sound so this morning I'm listening to the first Watchtower. Dream Theater - A Change of Seasons (1995) Ghost - Opus Eponymous (2010) Discovered by curiosity in 2010, I never got hooked on this music, a mix between Mercyful Fate and pop. I was expecting something creepy. It's just too pop in the choruses, the vocals. Sigh - Shiki (2022)
  7. Ah, I love this band! What a shame they split up! Cathedral of Ice is a song I really like.
  8. Cynic - Focus (1993) Crown of Thorns - The Burning (1995)
  9. Sadus - Elements of Anger (1998) Ok! I listened to the first 4 Sadus albums today. Of the 4, I really only knew Elements of Anger. The other albums I had already listened to but didn't really dig into. - Illusions (Chemical Exposure): it's wild! But you can already feel the technical side, even if it's not what stands out the most. - Swallowed in Black: still as violent (maybe less so, though). I find the sound better and the compositions more memorable. And the omnipresent bass sound is a pleasure to hear. - A Vision of Memory: the perfect link between Swallowed and Elements of Anger, I think. Still wild but less so and the compositions are more worked out, more complex. - Elements of Anger: well, I know it by heart. I like all its tracks but I regret that it is less killer than the previous ones. I miss Out for Blood that I didn't listen to. Maybe tomorrow. In any case, this is a band I regret not having followed from album to album. I'll fix that!
  10. Sadus - A Vision of Misery (1992)
  11. Ah, you think it's an announcement for a tour and not a new album? Okay, why not. I still hope there's an album in the story
  12. Sadus - Swallowed in Black (1990) I prefer this album to Illusions on first listen. I find the album better produced, the violence better controlled while remaining as intense. And I love DiGiorgio's bass sound! By the way! Did you know that on his FaceBook page, Sadus has launched a countdown? In 8 days, an announcement will be made! Is this the album they were supposed to record in 2020 and which will finally be released?
  13. Sadus - Illusions (Chemical Exposure) (1988) Apart from Elements of Anger, I know very little about Sadus' discography (please, don't kill me!). So I decided this morning to listen to Sadus' albums, starting with the first one! Very intensive !!!
  14. I love this album so much... I couldn't stand to hear anything other than the original, it's so much a part of a whole. In fact, I consider Dreamweaver to be my favourite European Thrash album after all these years. Of course, I love Onslaught's The Force, or Kreator's Pleasure to Kill, but Dreamweaver touches me much more. As a former role-playing game fan and a fan of the Fantasy literary genre, Dreamweaver "speaks" to me much more. Besides, I still have to read the novel The Way of Wyrd by Brian Bates from which the lyrics of Dreamweaver are taken.
  15. I used to have a favourite band: Metallica. Then Slayer took its place. Now I don't have a favourite band*. I get attached to albums mostly, but not to the artist who created them. *Thinking about it, I do have a favourite band: ANGE. French progressive rock band I saw live in 2020, just before the pandemic. Seeing them on stage filled me with emotion. I cried. Never has a metal band made such an impression on me.
  16. Napalm Death - Harmony Corruption (1990) Spock's Beard - Beware of Darkness (1996) It's been a long time since I listened to a progressive rock album. This one is excellent, like all the early Spock's Beard albums. Immortal - Battle in the North (1995)
  17. Morbid Angel - Altars of Madness (1989) Mekong Delta - Tales of a Future Past (2020) Mr. Bungle - Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny demo (2020) I own the collector's edition, with the green bunny on the cover that you can see in the dark, ha ha!
  18. Sabbat didn't sound "good" on their albums, I agree. It lacked punch, clarity too. But the first two Sabbats, you can tell them from the first second you hear them. They sound like no other album and that's where their strength lies. When the songs are good, the sound around them is secondary. And I prefer the original Dreamweaver sound a thousand times over a potential version that has been passed through the hands of Andy Sneap.
  19. +1000 I love Andy Sneap as an artist for what he did with Sabbat or Hell. But as a producer, every band that comes through his studio comes out with exactly the same sound. I've always preferred albums with a unique sound that you can't hear anywhere else. If I listen to Sabbat's Dreamweaver album, I know it in less than a second, just by the sound. The same goes for Wrath's Nothing to Fear, Kreator's Pleasure to Kill, Testament's The Legacy. If those albums had passed through his hands in his studio..
  20. Force of Hell - Better be Dead (2022) Thrash from Czechoslovakia. It's bestial, wild, in your face! Forbidden - Green (1997) My least favourite album of the band but you can't blame Forbidden for releasing the same album twice.
  21. Personally, I don't think Testament has evolved much since The Formation of Damnation. Between 2008 and 2020, the band released 4 albums but when I listen to the first of the 4 albums and the last one, I don't feel like I hear big differences. So yes, when Dark Roots of Earth came out, I listened to it a lot but very quickly I moved on and forgot all about it. I much prefer Souls of Black that you listened to today. It's not too far from Practice What You Preach, although I find it darker and less edgy.
  22. Coroner - Grin (1993) I don't like this album. Just this morning I tried to listen to it but it didn't do anything for me. I heard that a new Coroner album will be released in 2023. I won't dwell on it.
  23. No Return - Seasons of Soul (1995)
