  1. So I always here bad things about drummers; Other musicians often joke about drummers being dumb, unreliable, having wild out of control personality's, say how good drummers are hard to find....etc I also know a few people in bands, all of which have had endless problems with their drummers and have had to replace them numerous times. I am not saying I agree/disagree with these views but I want to know why it is that drummers seem to have such a bad rep?
  2. none then? wow! there really is a minority in female metal drummers, even more than I thought.
  3. So i've started to get blisters/skin wounds due to playing, my hands are getting shredded and it's only going to get worse so I'm thinking about getting some gloves. I've noticed some drummers use fingerless gloves and i'm wondering if this is a good idea. Will it effect my drumming at all? or am I best leaving it and letting my skin get tougher so I don't have to rely on wearing them? also would it look wussy? haha I hear some people mocking drummers for wearing gloves. Do any of you guys wear gloves what do you think? If so what are the best gloves?
  4. I'm a die hard Metallica fan so of course I'll be going with Metallica on that one. Metallica have been a big of my life, I grew up hearing them, they were that band that got me into metal and opened doors to other bands who I now listen to, I love the atmosphere when they play live, their whole following of loyal fans that they have, being a part of of their crowd and everything else that comes with them. I like Megadeth too, I've seen them both play live. It's a personal opinion but on top of that personal talk I do prefer Metallica's back catalougue and overall sound to Megadeth. I think that Metallica are the better band.
  5. We do have them over here in the UK of course but I live in Staffordshire and in all honesty the local metal scene is thin so maybe that is why I haven't come across any where I live/in my circle of friends. In fact I do not have one female friend who's into metal and especially not into drumming! There are plenty of indie chicks here that like watching bands but they think Kasabian are heavy and they would most probably think Pantera is some sort of Italian dish ha ha!
  6. it wasn't a difficult question to answer.
  7. ha ha! Yes mindy6158 I'm not gonna lie! I do follow accounts such as; metalhead look book, metal dudes with long hair, metalhead guys …. probably the best reason to join Instagram
  8. Hey I'm a girl drummer too and I can totally relate to this post! I think there is just as much of a minority of girl drummers as there are girls who are into this genre of music full stop! I think that is maybe because of the aggressive nature of metal/playing drums, it's not something that most girls can relate too, it's not their cup of tea, they like cute shit (although thats totally the reason I love it, loud fast heavy metal, pounding the drums, smashing those symbols I can't get enough) However I totally like to turn this into a positive. Your a rarity, You're a girl, you like bad ass music and you kick ass on the drums, be happy to be unique. Yeah you'll get some guys no doubt looking down on your drumming due to the fact that you are a female or whatever but keep a thick skin and use that as fuel to be the best you can be. I certainly do \m/
  9. order in which I think are best: Metallica Slayer Megadeth Anthrax Although personally for me I care more for which bands I connect with and who I enjoy listening to the most, regardless who's ranked the best. Saying that - order in which are my favourite: Metallica Megadeth Anthrax Slayer
  10. my god, such a negative response for someone who was just trying to get some metal heads together using Instagram. I'm on instagram dude, I follow loads of metal accounts.
  11. Hey dudes! Before I start I am aware that there is a thread already regarding female drummers but I kinda wanted to ask something slightly different, apologies if this has already been asked! I'm a girl with a genuine passion for metal that enjoys drumming and I am looking for some inspiration. Does anybody have any recommendations of some good metal female drummers for me to check out? whether it be you tube drummers/drummers in bands. So far I have come across Meytal Cohen who I thought was pretty cool and inspiring!
