1. I was a bit shocked last night upon seeing Impiety live, and realizing that while I've heard the name for years, I've never given them a listen. They were insane, somehow managing to sound tight and precise while nearly careening out of control throughout the whole set. They had to have played the most complex and technical bestial black/death metal that I've ever heard, and now I'm going to have to investigate their discography. Divine Eve played a killer set as well, my neck is feeling the repercussions of their unrelenting heaviness today.

2. I think we can all agree wholeheartedly Angelcorpse has some nasty riffs though
They'be got the whole package. Incredible intensity paired with memorable songwriting, sick vocals, ripping guitars, devastating drums, they're just on another level from most black/death bands.

3. Angelcorpse - The Inexorable; each song has arguably at least 1 memorable riff, which is incredible

I didn't get that impression from The Inexorable, but I did from Exterminate. That might be the best black/death metal album of all time.

4. For real. Talking with those folks is maddening. It's funny how "don't believe everything you hear" has become the mantra of people who buy vitamins from a nut job talk show host.
____
Doom playlist for painting today:
Krief De Soli - Procul Este, Profani
Cavernlight - As We Cup Our Hands And Drink From The Stream Of Our Ache ... Balor, if you're in a doomy mood, this might appeal to you.
Evoken - Antithesis Of Light
My Dying Bride - As The Flower Withers
Sexy playlist. Let me know how Krief de Soli and Antithesis of Light treat you.

5. Im sure those are amazing peppers. Ive had great results using Hatch green chiles, something my Dad passed down to me.
I don't think this guy grows any hatch chilis, but those are tasty. His bhut jolokia peppers are insanely flavorful, as are these red chilis he grows that I can't recall the name of at the moment. Garden salsa maybe? Super tasty.

6. So I am a huge fan of punk rock music as well as metal and I remember hearing a punk band called the meatmen covering In League With Satan and i thought it was the coolest shit. I also thought undisputed attitude was a super fun Slayer album going the other way. Anyone else dig this kind of stuff?
I did it when metal gets punky and vice versa. I can't think of many covers offhand, but it just tends to make a really nice combination.

7. Most of the shit i make comes from internet recipes. That chile verde is by far my favorite ive made so far.
I work with a dude that grows his own peppers, and his chile verde is magnificent. It's so great if you do it right. He's nice enough to just bring it to his coworkers that can appreciate the heat, as well as keeping us stocked up on peppers.

8. Just realized i havent had pho since i came back from culinary scientology. Needs to be remedied immediately.
It's such a glorious food. The way my wife made it wasn't really authentic, but it still turned out pretty well. I work at a trucking company, and most people here at like shit. They give me funny looks when I bring a huge bag full of food that takes me some time to assemble, but then they comment on how good it smells and how lucky I am to have a wife that cooks. I wouldn't say that she's a great cook, but she spends an inordinate amount of time on Pinterest and tends to find some good recipes.

9. Master's Hammer "Ritual" - the hype is deserved with these guys.  Has taken me an absolute age to cotton onto them but worth the wait.
That's just about as good as black metal gets IMO, very much a top 10 album for me personally. Nice to see the band getting more attention these days.

10. I'm in agreement. I don't see myself getting rid of my Inquisition albums or discontinuing listening to them, the music doesn't have anything to do with the member's actions, abhorrent as they are. That said though, the band can't really get upset if others don't share my view. Many will take it upon themselves to drop them for what they've done, and they have nobody to blame but themselves for that.

11. That fucking guy and his dumb shit flag-bandana-wearing gun-waving truther nonsense. I bet he drinks "raw" water because something something fluoride. I wonder how long we have until he starts going full on "flat Earth".
Still interested to hear the Demons And Wizards album though.
NP: Thergothon - Stream From The Heavens
Thorns Of The Carrion - The Gardens Of Dead Winter
That Alex Jones idiocy is just running rampant in general today. Based on how frightened and stupid many people seem to be, I shouldn't be surprised at his 3 million listener count, but it's still disturbing. That guy is cancer in human form.

12. Mystic Prophecy - Never Ending.

I’ve liked this band for years. Kinda like a good Iced Earth, perhaps a touch more melodic.
The "good Iced Earth" comparison caught my attention, as I've heard this band's name, but never listened. Iced Earth really could be great when they wanted to, but ended up falling flat on their faces for a good chunk of their recorded output, not to mention Schaffer's nutty neo-conservative conspiracy theory bullshit in recent years. Is the one you posted a good starting point for this band?

13. Did you ever get to it? I was just interested in hearing your thoughts since it isn't a usual genre for you.
Your message her just reminded me about them. I played a track and found it less fruity than I remembered from their self-titled album that I sold at the record store back in the day, and it was significantly less renaissance fair sounding than Rhapsody. It kind of reminded me of Dream Theater mixed with how Kamelot should sound, as opposed to how they actually sound. I could see myself enjoying this, even though I doubt it would ever occupy a top 10 spot for me. As you said, it's not my usual flavor, but I can see more clearly now than before why you would include it.

14. Thanks for the recommendation!  That song was cool, I will have to check out more of their work.
When it's done right, it can be a really compelling mixture. There are a decent number of bands who do it, but most aren't very well known. Here's a great one that shocked me when I saw how few views it had on YouTube:

15. I actually liked it quite a bit.  It was drawn out, atmospheric, and almost droning.  It reminded me a bit of Paysage d'Hiver.  I don't usually listen to doom metal (there is no real reason - I just tend not to), but from the songs that I have come across, I really need to look into it more.
Maybe some black/doom bands would help bridge the gap for you. Dolorian seems like a good candidate...

16. I am one of those weirdos. I used to like lamb just fine but it's too gamy for me anymore. I don't know what changed for me. I do still like gyro half of the time, and I could probably handle it ground up like that.
About to drink some water. Cool, clean water is thrilling stuff.
Indeed it is. As soon as my coffee mug is empty, I'm on to water for the rest of the day, and I go through a lot of it.

17. My top three would probably be Down Among the Deadmen, Twilight of the Idols and Traveller.
Mine too, with Traveller at the top and Down Among the Deadmen at the bottom. I somehow got lucky enough to find all 3 of those albums together in the used section of a record store in perfect shape. One of the best purchases I ever made from that establishment.

18. Goddamn, I'd even be happy to eat lamb in that context. That looks amazing.
You can get it with chicken if you're one of those weirdos who don't like lamb, or without meat at all. Either way, they're fucking delicious, and their döner wraps are no joke either.
