  1. Sortilège - Sortilège (1983)
  2. Dio - Sacred Heart (1985)
  3. 5 Metal bands Forbidden I've loved this band since Forbidden Evil, and even if there was a misstep with Green, it doesn't matter. Can't wait to discover the successor to Omega Wave. Dark Angel A band I've known since We have Arrived. I found this album average, like a sort of sub-Slayer. But the arrival of Gene Hoglan changed everything. Darkness Descends is Reign in Blood just as wild, if not more so. Leave Scars is just as unhealthy, if not more so. Time Does Not Heal, one of the few albums I can listen to over and over again. Death I didn't like Sound of Perseverance and I don't know much about Scream Bloody Gore, but I know all the other albums by heart. My favourite, Leprosy. Did I mention 5 groups? I lied 😜 In fact, I'm a fan of albums, not artists. Except when those artists release several albums that I find unmissable, like the 3 mentioned above. 5 Non Metal bands Ange French progressive rock band, born in 1969, just like me. Discovered in 2018, I've been sanding down the first albums for months. Caricatures, le cimetière des arlequins, Emile Jacotey, au-delà du délire, guet apens, I know them by heart. I saw the band for the first time in Paris on 31 January 2020. They're the only band to have made me cry, the emotion of seeing them on stage was so immense. Nemo Another French progressive rock band. Albums like Le nouveau monde and barbares are a must for me. The band no longer exists, but I follow the career of its leader, Jean-Pierre Louveton, very closely. Spock's Beard Spock's beard! No shit! The name alone made me laugh, but the first few albums are well worth the diversions. Once again, progressive rock, but American this time. A very good band until the departure of Neal Morse, the main composer, who left to found his own Christian prog rock band with Mike Portnoy. Without Neal, the band is no longer as interesting, and the same goes for Neal in his solo career. I hope they'll play together again one day. Rush In the very first hard rock songs I listened to in my life, there were two that I really liked: La Villa Strangiato and The Trees. Both by Rush. Nothing more to say. I'm missing a band... I lied about that too 😁
  4. Iron Maiden - Killers (1981)
  5. Nevermore - Enemies of Reality (2003) Original mix of course !
  6. Judas Priest - Defenders of the Faith (1984)
  7. I've had this album on LP since 1984 or 1985. A colleague of my father's gave it to me, along with Love At First Sting and Lovedrive. I also listened to a lot of Scorpions at that time, especially Blackout. And I'm a fan of World Wide Live, their fabulous live album.
  8. Deep Purple - In Rock (1970)
  9. Scorpions - Animal Magnetism (1980)
  10. Mucky Pup - Can't you take a Joke? (1987)
  11. Sodom - 'Til Death Do Us Unite (1997)
  12. Dream Theater - Live at the Marquee (1993)
  13. Ripping Corpse - Dreaming with the Dead (1991)
  14. Queensrÿche - Operation: Mindcrime (1988)
  15. Power Trip - Nightmare Logic (2017)
  16. Pentagram Chile - The Malefice (2013) I'd never heard of this band before, and discovered them last night by listening to a track from their second album, due for release on April 24. So I'm off to listen to The Malefice. Two discs!
  17. Couldn't get through The Blackening. As a result, I'm passing on an angry Thrash album that I loved in 2018. Maligner - Attraction to Annihilation (2018)
  18. Machine Head - The Blackening (2007) Unsurprisingly, I get bored listening to The Blackening. I yawn on the first 2 tracks, then come Aesthetics of Hate and I wake up from my lethargy. But when the break arrives, I find that it doesn't fit with the first part of the track, and the boredom immediately returns. I'm not the right customer for this album.
  19. Machine Head - Burn My Eyes (1994) It's already 30 years since this record came out... 😌 Burn my Eyes was playing on a loop in my car every morning on the way to work and every evening on the way home. I loved the big sound and the good riffs. But, being a thrasher at heart, my favorite tracks are still A Nation on Fire and Blood for Blood 😁 A few years later, the band supposedly released a Thrash Metal masterpiece with The Blackening. Apart from Aesthetics of Hate (and even then, the beginning to the break), I can't find any other song on this album that appeals to me. It's just too dull and boring. But at least with Burn my Eyes, I'm enjoying it a lot more. This afternoon, I may give The Blackening another try.
  20. Luciferion - Demonication (The Manifest) (1994) I love the intro!
  21. King Diamond - Fatal Portrait (1986)
  22. Edge of Sanity - Crimson (1996) Just 1 track for 40 minutes of sublime music drawing on a variety of styles, including black, death and doom. Unbeatable!
  23. Darkness - Death Squad (1987)
  24. Bolt Thrower - Realm of Chaos (1989)
  25. Atheist - Piece of Time (1990)
