Sabbat - Live in East Berlin 1990 (2023) I only listened to part of it last night after receiving my Sabbat boxset, so today I'm giving it to myself in its entirety. With Jerry Goldsmith's fabulous music from the movie The Final Conflict (Damien 3) to open the set. It's magical!

ADX - La Terreur (1986) A bit of melodic Speed to start the day, with a band from my country and an album I love.

Proscriptor McGovern’s Apsû - Proscriptor McGovern’s Apsû (2021) Another killer record! With Absu's drummer and vocalist.

Abigor - Taphonomia Aeternitatis - Gesänge im Leichenlicht der Welt (2023) I've just listened to the album twice in a row and I have to say that I haven't managed to form an opinion yet. The music seems to go off in all directions, exploring different horizons. I really like the chiselled, crystal-clear riffs at times, the female vocals that sometimes make an appearance and the wild accelerations that suddenly appear. As a reminder, this is the first Abigor album I've listened to, so I'm discovering both the band and their world. For the moment, I'd say it's special. But not in a pejorative sense! I listen to a lot of convoluted/complex music but this is something else again. In any case, it's an album that takes a lot more than 2 listens to get into. Edit : Let's go for a 3rd listening session! 🎧

I only knew Abigor by name, but I'd never listened to it before. It's because you mentioned it that I thought "here's another band you only know by name! I listened and was pleasantly surprised by what I heard. I picked up the album and Proscriptor's McGovern Apsû at the same time. Tomorrow morning, I know what I'm going to listen to: these two records. As for Abigor, I'll say what I thought of it.

Thank you for mentioning Abigor. It made me want to go and listen to the album, and the little I heard I liked. Tomorrow I'll listen to the whole album.

Defiance - Product of Society (1989) A Bay Area thrash band that has remained somewhat in the shadow of its pals (Testament, Forbidden, Vio-Lence, etc.). It has to be said that on this debut album, the sound lacks the power and energy to support and highlight the rather technical and well-crafted tracks. On the following album, the band hired a clone of Chuck Billy (Testament), which didn't help matters, even though Void Terra Firma was an excellent record. A shame, really.
