I will never understand how people from the U.S. have so much trouble reading subtitles and sometimes won't even watch them unless they have dubbing or just a complete remake with U.S. actors.

Personally, I loathe dubs due to the often poor voice acting, and find U.S. remakes to generally be more miss than hit, but I think there's also an argument to be made that some ideas that make sense to one country just don't translate very well, and that some people do find it hard to follow the specifics of a story when they have to read along, even if they can follow the broad strokes of a plot

    Whaaat

Description is pretty outlandish but surprisingly it's actually really well balanced. Not cloying at all.

Little odd they chose to actually include the General Mills brand in the description.

Well technically they said cinnamon crunch cereal. Think someone was ad libbing a bit in the Untapped description I copy/pasted

And let's not forget that BC recently unionized, and by chance, a majority of the layoffs hit union actives.

The job cuts, which SFGATE reported Monday amounted to about 60 of 118 employees, disproportionately hit union leaders, Bandcamp United told SFGATE in a Tuesday press release. Every member of the union’s eight-person bargaining team was laid off, it said, and in sum, 40 of the bargaining unit’s 67 people lost their jobs.

    Whoops.

Auriferous Flame - Ardor for Black Mastery

This scratches the black metal itch.   The riffs are great. The production is pretty tight for the modern genre.  However, there is enough play in the intensity, speed/space, often building or sweeping you into another.  I'd skip over track 3, at least for first listen.

Yeah..that's one of the side projects of Ayloss from Spectral Lore. Agree that it's a solid release. If you dig this release, you might like his Mystras stuff as well.

I personally kind of enjoy the call it experimentation.

If there was any kind of progression behind it, instead of just wholesale direction changes, but right now it just feels like someone constantly throwing random ideas at the wall.

You'll have to report back on how it works out. I've never had good luck with Sony units, but the ease of PIP is tempting. I've installed my fair share of car audio systems over the years, so I'm not afraid of the wiring. Less hassle is less hassle though.

    Absolutely...

...and agreed. I was trying to do as much PIP as I could with the speakers because I didn't want to cut into the stock harnesses in case I ever sell the truck, but damn they didn't make that easy. For some reason the 2015 seems to get overlooked for tweeter harnesses, with TacoTunes being the only place I could find that actually makes ones that fit. Still ended up having to cut the aftermarket woofer harnesses I was using to make everything work, but those are a hell of a lot easier to replace.

Did you see the new parent company (Songtradr) laid off half the Bandcamp staff?

That wasn't Songtradr, that was actually Epic who did it before the site was officially sold. Basically, the employees were told by Epic to reapply for their jobs with Songtradr, and roughly half were given job offers. Probably because Epic is financially screwed right now after getting hit with a $520 million dollar settlment, and ended up letting roughly 16% of their own staff go as well.

...and while I'm sure Songtradr will find some way to screw things up for the worst, it's important to note a lot of the people being let go came out of the writing and editorial department side of things. This isn't the tech people who keep the system running, it's the people who do the music promotion and review stuff on places like Bandcamp Daily....which, to me, has always been a useless waste of resources.

You should look at these plug and play units if you haven't bought one yet. I'm not crazy about Sony, prefer Kenwood or Pioneer, but it's better than having to wire a harness and program the adapter.

Wish I'd known about those before hand. I picked up a Kenwood Excelon DDX396 along with a Crux SWRTY-61N Wiring Interface back in late spring. Assuming it works as it's supposed to, it shouldn't be too bad to set it up as it's pre-programmed. Just flick the appropriate switches into on or off. It does mean a day with the crimping tool and heat gun though.

What speakers did you put in? I'm thinking about an upgrade in my 16. New HU and some other goodies. Freshen it up cheaper than a new truck that will set me back 60k minimum.

Yeah...new head unit is next. Need to double check that I've got everything I need for it, and I'll hopefully start wiring the harness together next weekend.

..for speakers, I ended up putting in some Reference Series 6530cx components from infinity

Nothing super fancy, but they'll be able to take a good chunk of power once I finally get around to getting an amp for them. I only ran them a little bit today, just to confirm they were all working, but even with just the stock head unit I can hear a difference.

20 Buck Spin just announced a Worm/Dream Unending split:

The description honestly doesn't sound super promising for my taste, but who knows.

Worm seems to be having some kind of identity crisis since Foreverglade where they don't know what kind of band they want to be or what kind of music they want to make. Dude seems to just be kind of flailing around
