  1. It's quite possible. I'm not sure what legal ground people have if their identity is stolen using the data Optus gave up, not even sure it could be proven to have been Optus' data but there must be some grounds for legal action against such incompetence.

It does make one wonder how close any other large telco, bank or utility is to becoming the next victim of such incompetence.

  2. As long as Doc gets the FEels he'll be okay.

Holy shit that Optus data breach is a fucking doozy. It appears it wasn't even a cyber attack or a hack, it appears from sources looking into it that they left the back door open and welcomed the person in. Or in slightly more technical terms they left a back end account unprotected by even a simple password. 10 million effected people with licence numbers, email addresses and personal details leached from the company. More than enough information about each person to start up fake accounts with just about any company leaving the majority of the 10 million accounts facing the possibility of having their identity stolen.

No doubt there will be a fall guy at Optus if current information is true, but Optus as a company certainly shouldn't get away from this without a massive fine.

  3. I heard people on the news saying that Sydney lost because Buddy didn't fire. I hate to tell them but if they got all the way to the Grand Final and still rely on only one person in a team of 18 to fire in order to win they didn't deserve to be there.

I suppose thatguy will now be able to tell us who the Feels play in the NRL GF next week. I wonder if they too can be beaten by such a margin it was like they didn't show up!!

Here doc I'll help you out with a response....

We should not stick our lives into certain philosophical patterns or ideals. We need to open our horizons and look at our lives from different angles and windows. This expands our vision. Ideals are shaped according to beliefs, but a person without belief cannot be called without ideals. A person without an ideal cannot be called an unbeliever.

While I do agree with opening ones mind (maybe horizon) and looking at things from different angles I don't really see too many people these days interested in doing it. Many people these days have their view, right or wrong, and simply don't care if others have their own view. It's not really a new thing, but from what I see it's a happening more and more.

Speaking of which I just hope it’s a close game for once,

Looking at the score on the 6pm news, doesn't look like you got that hope.

    I re-iterate.

And you wonder why I can't support the Eels! :P

  6. I used to watch the Touring cars most races until the Holden/Ford control car BS got involved and I watched every Bathurst in it's entirety from the late 70's until about 2005. My dad used to work in Murray Cater's pit for the Sandown races in the early 80's so the Sandown/Bathurst races were always a family get together for us. I do tune into Bathurst now days, but it's the kind of race I watch the start of, watch the highlights of during the day, then try to catch the last hour or so before dinner. I don't know the all driver's names like I once used too and I really don't like the commentary team these days.

  7. I remember in the 90's when Rammstien became popular (or maybe just known) here in Oz, it brought a whole different group of fans to metal shows. At first they didn't really fit in with the thrash/death gigs and bands we had pushing around the place. It took probably 3 years before crowds started to settle down and accept each other.

  8. I think it's the week after the NRL GF. It's been a long time since I religiously followed it but from memory before they fucked around with the dates, and the V8's in general, it was weekend after NSW's public holiday (Monday off to recover from the GF) and the weekend of daylight savings in the eastern states.

I don't care who wins today, I've got a truck load of soil to move this weekend, but run away games for such big matches are boring.

    Just a quiet word.

EELS ARE IN THE GRAND FINAL AND FUCK YOUSE ALL!!

Aahhhh but will they be injected with aniseed, cut up and used as bait?

Having just had a public holiday for a dead queen and a public holiday for a stupid parade of aerial ping pong players floating up a river, I'm not even sure what day it is today. But if we have a football match here today that means Gentleman Ball has their big game next week which means the Big Race is only 2 weeks away.

Hmm I remember when the trifecta of those three sporting events actually meant something.

Go whichever teams plays the EELS!! :P
