  1. DRUMMER WANTED ASAP! https://sceptocrypt.com/lyrics-songs/wards-outside-demo-track-feb-2024/ Sceptocrypt, a Maltese band from the 90s relaunched in London (UK) in 2023 & released 2 singles since! Listen to our latest track above, and if you like what you hear, we are looking for a London based drummer (or one that can commute here regularly for rehearsals) who can become part of our family (we are not looking for deps/sessions). Musically, the ideal drummer would be a balance between double bass power & jazz swing! But don't let that change your mind if you consider yourself different to the description, yet still like our music! Auditions are through June 2024 (but don't let that stop you from contacting us if you read this later) so go ahead, and email [email protected] (sending your phone number + any of your audio/video clips if you got). We will then call you back, & discuss if you prefer to be sent the above "The Wards Outside" (10 riffs in all) or another easier song (6 riffs in all) as riff by riff to prep to, or just to meet and have an initial jam (ppl work differently and we are flexible). We got 2 albums' worth of stuff so we would never be missing a riff to jam to! Guaranteed fun each jam session! Besides, one of us has 28yrs teaching music experience so if anything seems overwhelming (eg 12.5min song) it can be explained in simple terms (eg 10 riffs). A sequence chart of riffs vs timeline can also be provided (if it helps). Basically, where there is a will, there is a way; + we already have label interest so c'mon drummers, let's get the ball rolling. A bit about us! In the 90s we were received as “one of the most brilliant demoes in years”, “a hell of a musical masterpiece”, “one of the best demos of 1996”, “demo of the month”, “not your everyday kind of metal” whereas since our comeback, we been welcomed with "I really don’t know where to put this band in, a big positive plus-point for them; - the diversity is polarizing, a testament to the avant-garde/ progressive death metal route it seems like these guys are going; - an own musical and artistic universe! a succession of emotions! an obvious theatrical side! Quite avant-garde! Lots of creativity and originality; - Sceptocrypt add their own distinct spin to the subgenre" So if you want to be p/o our vision, email [email protected] with your phone number! This ad is across many platforms so pls do not msg us here but only to our email (so we do not inadvertently miss your msg). To all others - ENJOY THE SONG! Thanks all for reading/listening
  2. The Grief is proud to release their debut single this month: “A New Dawn” available digitally now on Spotify & all other common streaming platforms. A New Dawn comes from the band’s debut digital EP “Ascent” to be released in late February. A lyric video for the single can both be found below, with the single’s artwork at the top of this post. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEaXgVEgYMA Formed in early 2016, The Grief features members from Cork-based metal bands Corr Mhóna and For Ruin, some of whose members had originally played together in a Katatonia tribute band. The Grief plays a mixture of doom-tinged metal with influences from all the aforementioned bands & made some live appearances in 2017 before recording an initial unreleased demo with the initial line up of the band: Robert Farrow - Drums, Kieran O'Leary - Bass, Paul Quinn - Guitars, Stephen Quinn - Vocals, John Murphy – Guitars. With the drum position vacated by Farrow who has since moved abroad, the band decided to focus on recording their first 9 songs during 2019 at Murphy’s home studio in North Cork. Recordings were completed in late 2019 with Murphy performing the drum parts while a new drummer was being recruited. The 9 songs have been mastered by Dan Swano at Unisound (www.unisound.se) in January 2020 and the band plans to release the material digitally via a number of releases during 2020.
