  1. I have a similar issue but that is due to listening to music too loudly and having burst my right ear drum as a result of a very nasty infection which now has made it so sensitive it is impossible to attend gigs and most of the time my earphones are a no no also. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Taptalk

Thankfully, mine isn't caused by that. I don't know what I would do if I couldn't go to shows anymore or plug my earbuds in. Mine have been that way as long as I can remember though. I remember being three and four years old and not being able to sleep at night because of it. I didnt't really know what it was back then but I do now. If I don't have music going then I have to have a fan going or something. There HAS to be some kind of noise or I can't sleep. It's worse sometimes too. Like when I have a migrane headache its amplifies it even more.

I love to listen to music when I'm cooking, travelling, and sleeping.

  2. There's a lot to like about cockatoos but if you've never owned birds before defs not the way to go.

Thats's true. Sam can be and arsehole but he can be a cuddly little fart too. I guess the biggest thing is know their body language. And they aren't what I'd call a first time bird owners pet. And never get the mentality that "they're my pet, and they love me, and they'll never hurt me". Because with them its not a matter how if they will bite, its a matter of when and how hard!

  3. Dream Vacation... hmmmmmm... either Scotland for a minimun of a month hiking through the country, Germany to The Waken Open Air Festival, or a tour through all the WW2 memorials overseas with my Grandfather (WW2 sniper)

  4. ABSOLUTELY!!! People made fun of me to be honest. It pissed me off. My index finger was the one the he bit and it swelled to double its normal size inside of 5 minutes.

  5. Yea like I said, about a month ago the yellow crested one thats at the ranch bit me while I was cleaning his cage and broke my finger. The only thing that saved me from having my finger sewn back on is the fact that I still had on my leather work gloves from doing the morning milking. I was in a splint for two weeks and then had to have have therapy done too because it also damaged the tendon. I sat in the ER for four hours with nurses and doctors laughing at me because they didnt believe that a bird could bite that hard. A lot of people dont realize the strength that they have unless they've had experience with them. They have a lot of strength in their beaks!!!

  6. She also used to have an old African grey called Peepoe. They tried to teach it to talk but it only ever wanted to mimic the dog and the doorbell.

They can be STUPID smart or just extremely STUPID!!!

  7. My grandmother used to have a cockatoo, he was an evil bugger at times. They had to chain the door closed on the aviary because he figured how to open it.

LMAO!!! Yea we have to have a lock on ours. And he's and evil bastard too. He actually bit me about a month ago. I was cleaning his cage and had work gloves on. He broke my finger! If I hadn't had the gloves on I would have had to had my finger partially sewn back on. They're evil little pricks when they wanna be lol

  8. I'm lucky when it comes to skydiving. My best friend is an AVID jumper. So my first jump will be with him. I know that if he's juming out of a certain company that its a good one. It was suppose to happen this year but I didnt get a chance.

  9. I have a problem with things being too quiet. I have this kinda high pitched almost feedback sound in my ears constantly. Its caused by a vitamin deficiency. I've had it all my life. As long as I'm busy or there's some kind of background noise going on I'm okay. However, at night when the house is really quiet and I'm trying to sleep the silence is literally loud. So I listen to music and then I can fall asleep.

  10. Zoo? God no! That would imply that there was profit in it... and cages. Neither of which are true except for the cockatoo because the evil bastard likes to bite through peoples toenails. We have a ranch. Raise our own beef. The livestock guardian dog is for protecting cattle, the cattle dogs and saddle horses are for rounding up cattle, the barn cats keep the mice out of the barn. The house cats, fish, pony, and bird are the only real "pets". All the other animals have jobs. But we still baby them.

As for why my cats name is "Satan", he's named after a very dear friend of mine. When he was younger he was really into skydiving. He has almost 40 jumps in now. He was kinda crazy lol. He would volunteer to test the shutes that weren't working properly. So his fellow "jumpers" gave him the nickname Satan. Long story made short, the cat and my friend have the same personality so I named the cat after him. Satan is the only cat I have ever seen that wears a spiked leather collar. It suits him.

  11. Wow.... where to start??? We have pets in two residences. At the house and the ranch. I have three house cats- Satan, Tig, and Queenie. My dog is Gypsy Rose and she's a livestock guardian dog. Two beta fish- Xia and Gomez. And at the ranch there is three barn cats- Sneakers, Patches, and Tiger. Four house cats- Dezzy, Spazz, Demon, and Smoo. Two cattle dogs- Kayley and Bandit. A yellow chrested umbrella cockatoo- Sam. A pony- Carter. Three saddle horses- Sonny, Jazzy, and Stormy. And about thirty head of cattle. And an Unkindness of Ravens that I feed cat and dog kibble to.

  12. Hey all... I'm a new to the site. My name is Hollie but my close friends call me Angelle. I'm a metal mutt. I like a little bit of everything. Favorite band is Iron Maiden. But I'll listen to a little bit of everything.

    Happy to be here!!!
