  1. 1. Thrash Metal 2. Melodic Death Metal 3. Power Metal
  2. I find both difficult to choose which one is the best metal genre yet for me only both of them but both of them for me are the best genres of Metal music IMO. Thrash Metal because it has crazy fast riffs and fast shredding process that were popularized to make it as an outstanding genre but the problem was that Thrash Metal after 2000s had lack of creativity with that genre because of "0 0 0 0 0 0'' type of formula and technical riffs. However, it made influences on loads of extreme metal genres like Death Metal, Black Metal and others. The Thrash Metal bands that I love are Anthrax, Slayer, Havok, Megadeth, Municipal Waste (They're Crossover Thrash I know), Aura Noir (Blackened Thrash Metal), Revocation, Exodus, Sepultura, Skeletonwitch (Blackened Thrash Metal), Sodom, Toxic Holocaust (Also Blackened Thrash or Crossover Thrash), Testament, Vader and Violator. Melodic Death Metal because it's the only genre for me that it's more emotional, melodic and approachable to the audience which the formula of making this genre is 2 genres which are Death Metal + NWOBHM which I find it so interesting to hear. The Melodic Death Metal bands that I love are Arch Enemy, Arsis (Technical Melodic Death Metal), Be'lakor, The Black Dahlia Murder, Children Of Bodom (One of my Favourites and called it specifically Extreme Power because it has synthesizer in their music but normally it's Melodic Death Metal), Dark Tranquillity (Pioneers of Melodic Death Metal), Ensiferum (More of a mixture of Folk metal but Melodic Death Metal influences), Hypocrisy (One of my favourites because of their Lyrical Content about Space or sci-fi), Kalmah (One of my favourites because it's similar to Children Of Bodom), In Flames (My all time favourite melodic death metal band that maded allmost all their albums perfect until they made the album called "Siren Charms" which has poor style of this album and which changed alot differently because Jesper left the band due to Medical issues), Insomnium, Naildown (Similar to Children Of Bodom), Carcass (Pionners of Melodic Death Metal), At The Gates (My All time favourite because of their "Slaughter Of The Soul" album which currently never stays old), Scar Symmetry (All Time favourite aswell because of their lyrical content and their instrumentation which is about Space with sci-fi influences), Amon Amarth (My All Time favourite because of their lyrical content about Vikings), Wintersun (More like Extreme Power but my all time favourite aswell). Which one do you think it's the best genre for you or the metal community that remains the best in your opinion? There's also a poll to vote for everyone. Thank you -BrVt3l F3IdZ
  3. I was watching "Metal Evolution - Extreme Metal" one day which became interesting and worth watching it at any time about weeks ago. So I decided to look for more "detailed" fusion genres or good mixture metal genres when I come across and found "Extreme Power Metal" on MetalStorm.net website where you can filter types of metal genres you can found of the bands. I discovered that Children Of Bodoms and Kalmah have "Extreme Power Metal" genre tag on their band biography of metalstorm.net which I find it to disagree.. Even the bands like "Wintersun, Eternal Tears of Sorrow, Norther, Skyfire, Whispered and Blood Stain Child" are tagged as a "Extreme Power Metal" genre instead of Melodic Death Metal. After I came across discovering and confusing myself why they call themselves "Extreme Power Metal", I came across to find which band created "Extreme Power Metal" which I realized it was possibly Dragonforce with the song called "E.P.M" which I became to see something interesting. If you wanna know the meaning of this metal genre called "Extreme Power Metal", Here's some great detail that I got from last.fm: “Extreme Power Metal” is usually used to describe the melodic death metal/power metal fusion that has its home in Finnish bands such as Children of Bodom and Kalmah as these artists usually owe just as much to Power Metal as they do to extreme metal, with most bands often coming across as Power Metal with death growls and black metal screams. However, DragonForce uses the term to describe their music as well because of the faster tempos and greater deal of technicality present in their brand of Power Metal." So.. Do you agree that this should a "real" genre or just for people that should like to call this whetever they want between Melodic Death Metal and Power Metal"? -Feidz Thanks.
  4. In my opinion, Metalcore doesn't have its own mostly because it's mostly a fusion genre like example: Metalcore was influenced by Melodic Death Metal with breakdowns during their song which you'll get the idea.
  5. Yes. Im a Metal Guitarist which im practising some important riffs of MeloDeath
  6. G'day Metalheads! My name is BrVt3l F3IdZ, I'm 14 years old and come from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.I came to this site by typing something "metalforums" without space on google and found this which I found it successful and interested with this site. I started to get use to get onto that site by looking at other's people comments about controversy, music taste and tips about playing a song from any metal genre and sharing other's people music taste. If you wanna know what's my favourite metal genre, Melodic Death Metal is my first top of genre of my head in my opinion because of how thrashy and how good the catchy melody there is and how riffs can be played like masterpiece. My favourite bands of this genre is In Flames, Children of Bodom, Nightrage, Dark Tranquility, Soilwork, Arch Enemy (stopped listening to Arch enemy afterwards because of the new singer called "Alissa White-Gluz" with less excitement), At The Gates, Carcass (that could be my favourite band from the genre goregrind), Dethklok, Heaven Shall Burn, Kalmah, Naildown, Scar Symmetry, Skyfire and Wintersun. -BrVt3l F3IdZ Thank you
